Cristiano Ronaldo

I mean if they played together for longer.

Yes - dybala, Ronaldo, Chiesa would have been a terrific trio in 20/21 but because of injuries he couldnt play with them

See post above yours. All you post is propaganda that when looked up turns out not to be true.

I have thought about the discussion when i sat in train on the way to home and i think we misunderstood each other. I didnt mean he was a 100% midfield player, he was more than half of the time a winger but what i meant was that he wasnt a pure winger like in his young Real days at Manu. If you look ronaldo highlights of the manu matches you find him a lot of times in right midfield area, sth you wont see at Real. If you have still questions, feel free to ask me. :)

We really need to call pest control for Rati

I knew this wont end until you comment this debate 🤣

A traditional winger in a 4-4-2 isn't a midfielder - he didn't have many defensive duties, he didn't play like Beckham for example, hugging the touchline, delivering crosses etc, and Ferguson used him as the main goalscorer even in his 4-4-2, as he often went higher while forwards came deeper. Football isn't really where someone is on the graphic at the start of the game is their position. If often became more of a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 when one of the forwards dropped into central midfield or the number 10 role and Ronaldo joined the attack.

He still played pretty high and it made sense as he was a brilliant player and United's best goal threat, so why not use him as a false striker or dribbler from the wing?

The overall point is that football formations mean very little. It's about the dynamism, interchanging, connection and movement of the players. Ronaldo has had incredible off the ball movement and that allowed him to get into forward areas back then.

Nah you're backpeddling. You tried to post something impressive and unique like how CR scored all these goals when being a pure midfielder when he in fact was playing with a lot of freedom with one job, which was to attack.

We'll be waiting for the next "impressive" stat about CR you and your fanboys will conjure up out of your asses. You ought to truly be the biggest brainwashed fanboy on here, and we do have proper fanboys on here that's for sure so the bar is high.

Yeah he switched from being a right winger to an inverted cutting inside winger on his left foot. He did both jobs at Man United but he became a permantent 'left wing forward' at Real. At Man United he was a classic winger from 2003 to 2006 but had already become a 'false winger' by 2007.

Fati is a nice guy to be fair - he never insults or attacks anyone. I know he can post some stuff that seems just for trolling (like this here) but he doesn't mean anything nasty by it. He's a good kid.

He might be nice and most likely very naive but trolling is also a big source of annoyance. Like what's the point of posting propaganda posts (much of it that's skewed or not true) about CR on a Barcaforum if not to provoke?

Tbh, i was serious at my post in the morning, ive discussed a while ago with a guy at work (he is messi fan and hates ronaldo lol) who wanted to convince me that Ronaldo was never in midfield area at Manu🤣 thats why i was probably too extreme before, ive now corrected it above 😪

To be fair, I think he did genuinely believe Ronaldo was a midfielder then. Other times he has been trolling but this time I think he was being serious.

I know it seems like a very simple thing to get wrong (a classic winger being a midfielder) but some people don't know as much about tactics as others.

If you think I am being gullible or overly generous because Fati is my friend, fair enough. But I honestly think he just didn't 'get it' this time.

Tbf, my intention is never to provocate someone with my posts. Its more that i want to inform ppl here and discuss with other Ronaldo fans like Temptnaldo or Rassy or even Messi fans like Mara - also learned from your posts today. At the end of the day im always open to change my opinions as long as ppl convince me with facts instead of insults like the KL group (although i admit the pest control was a good joke from KL) :)
