They are set for at least 4+ years.

They have good depth but in next four years likely to have to replace Ramos, Marcelo, Modric, Ronaldo and to lesser extent Benzema and they have no back ups on level of those first four. Isco is a good player but is different from Modric and will have to go some to be that level.

Nothing they can do to replace likes of Ronaldo or even Ramos. Lets see how they cope replacing those type of players. That is more important than good depth.

Bein Sports USA said the transfer is confirmed. Watched it on TV, so I don't have a link to give to you guys.

Letting this guy go to Madrid and letting B. Silva go to City should be enough to drop the guillotine on Robert's worthless head.

Bunch of fucking morons.

Don't worry, the work isn't done yet. We've still got to sign Lucas Lima and Paulinho. Maybe reject a few more transfer offers for Gomes while they're at it.

This transfer window is showing a clear strategy by RM to invest in high value young players.

I think that RM have realised that it is becoming more and more difficult to compete for established stars. Even the wealthy club from the capital can no longer out bid other big clubs in Europe.

The emergence of Chelsea, City and PSG has disrupted the market. They can all afford to match RM for any player as is proving to be the case for Mbappe at the moment.

I think that the so called strategy of signing established ‘Galacticos’ is coming to an end. The new strategy is to sign young Galactico’s, if that makes sense. There is probably less competition for young Galactico’s as other mega rich clubs want immediate success. RM probably feel that they can dominate the market in the 18 – 20 year age group while the 23 -25 year age group has now got way too much competition. I think that this is a good strategy and it shows a degree of foresight. They are anticipating how the game is changing and are planning for it.

As a Barca fan however, I feel less optimistic. We don’t seem to be fighting hard enough for the young stars out there which means we then have to go out and buy Verratti from PSG. An almost impossible task.

tbf, he prefered Madrid, there's not much you could do.

He had been in talks with Real Madrid for months while we made an attempt when it was reported he had an agreement with them.

It made him think, but he went for them in the end anyway.

Perhaps an earlier attempt would have changed something, but then again this club is managed so badly so that's too much to expect.

They've signed young players for many, many years now. Just look at their transfers over the past decade. They are pretty much always young.

Yup, it is not just this window, they have been doing this for a while and they have a clear vision and plan. We, on the other hand, don't, as the stupid and incompetent board and that useless Robert keep telling themselves: "We have Messi, we have Messi..."

Dark future ahead of us. Bunch of useless imbeciles.

Very smart indeed. I wish we had him as our president.

Florentino has truly learned from his first tenure.

Meanwhile the idiots at Barca are hell bent on doing everything worse.

He just spent 45m on a 16 year old and will spend big again when needs to.

Seems to be what Barca tried to do last season as well without much success so far.
