Oh trust me I blame the board x1000 more than I could blame Dani if I was (i'm not); but at some point, the club is bigger than the board, and also the board is almost out... so for the love of god could he just sign and wish like everyone else that the board won't be re-elected, even from a $ perspective I'm not sure he'll get a better deal than here, his team mates love him, the fans love him, he's an undisputable starter for Lucho who's apparently staying ... I mean except for some personal grief with the board, this should have been a no brainer, now we're 24h from the deadline and everyone is still in the dark.

Maybe he's waiting to see if a different board will be elected to stay. He'll be a free agent anyway.

The milan venture is absolutely ridiculous.

Dani is being offered a great contract by the best team in the world with a starting place guaranteed for most of the next season compared to what is a retirement team nowadays.

Just sign the damn contract. He wont get a better a offer.

Sentimentality does not fly too well in this world.

Let him go.

Ahhh, but merit and lack of a replacement do.

Find it pretty hilarious how people have changed their tune to Dani. Even through plenty of this season plenty were rating his as our worst performer, simply off his name, but the trend has shifted to 'he's my favorite RB everrrr' now he's leaving. Other than a pretty shit season under Tata, my oh my has this guy been under-valued. Looking forward to Vidal as our right-back, but seasons can be lost in the first 6 months too y'know.

People haven't changed opinions because he's leaving, but because he got back to being world class in the last 4 months so people assume (more like hope) he's gonna keep this level if he stays.

I have always praised Alves throughout his stay with us, and I think he was one of the prime reasons behind the "Pep Treble" (how cool is it now that we can distinguish between God damn effing trebles!!!) In the latter part of this tremendous "Lucho Treble" season, Dani has been nothing short of a monster for the team. But, his demands are still obscene and his age is 32. If we are being rational, he will never have a season like the one that has just climaxed so awesomely for us, so this is a good opportunity for us to move on. I am sure he can find a Premier League club that will give him very good money, or he can retreat on his demands.

I think Montoya can cover for a few months, even if not, the big CL games only begin in late February.

U wouldn't worry about replicating this season's form, though. But Dani is his own man and if he wants to go, then so be it, he has my respect. Only time'll tell how we'll fare without him, but considering we can't make transfers, money shouldn't be the issue, and given our manager's love for rotation, there's plenty work for him even with Vidal coming in.

This board is going out anyway. I don't know what respect he wants from the club. Should every board member apologize to him publicly? It is a fact that every team member and coach values him very much. If he really wants to go he can go, thanks for all the great years dani.
