Hardly attacking a player saying they didn't agree with his comments.

Anyway they can control what happens with Alves a lot more than media.

Thing is Alves comments are correct really but it can cause a whole host of issues that can be distracting and won't benefit club.

Anyone who makes our the club are just being weak or blasting players don't really take into account the whole picture and why they did it.

Would Lucho have been pissed off with that from Alves? My guess yes and players instructed not to do that type of thing from the outset.

You're the board first line of defense here, so not surprising you are saying that. There was no need to backslash Alves. His opinions are obviously his own. What this stupid board just did was to give fuel for the rm press to attack even more our players. Not just Alves. But Pique, Suarez, Neymar, Messi, all of them. Had Lucho been mad or whatever, it's something to be solved internally, not thru the press. Keep up your excuses, but I'm not going to keep arguing with a board apologist.

The irony is delicious. Board tries to apologize to the press with a statement while the press uses the same statement to take a dump on Barca, in the exact manner Alves complained about. Less football, more trash.

That was obviously what was going to happen, except to this stupid board and their followers.

You think the RM press can target the players any more than they are doing? Or have held back as don't want to upset Barto?

The Real press are going to attack no matter what. They are going to continue to attack until the point Barca and its players get distracted and start biting back.

This has nothing to do with protecting the media is an attempt to try and stop it becoming a war and a distraction. A war with a press who will go in deeper the MORE Barca and its players react.

There is a reason Lucho rarely comes out and criticises the officials etc. The Real press will have a frenzy and try to make it about anything but football.

Dont think Alves did much wrong and his comments are correct but can see why the club don't like the fact he did it and not because of the content.

Clubs are strict as fuck on rules about players on social media and creating any kind of controversy as it usually brings ,ore trouble than worth even if player is right.

Even if Alves came out and said 'pau Lopez is biggest cunt in la Liga' he may well be right but it's not worth it.

One of the worst statements the club has ever put out but it falls well inline with the the type of timid man Bartomeu is. Seriously the most spineless leadership I have witnessed and that says a lot considering this boards weak responses to everything not named Laporta.

I always thought this as well. But a lot of recent events have me doubt it.

Alves already called Marca and As, "basura" in their face on a press conference, why didn't they "apologize" (read pee their pants) back then ?

This is absolutely NOT the moment to side with anyone else than our players that get murdered by these thugs with the refs & FA's permission.

But yeah, let's be politically correct, worked wonders for us all these years.

Bartomeu :puke::puke::puke:

Madrid want Barca to start breaking down and sniping back. Alves is playing in to their hands.

Nothing to do with taking sides over anything.

If you are right then players will feel that the dressing room will be lost. Let's see.

Maybe they reacted more today as the amount of non football stories about Barca are getting ridiculously high and Madrid are achieving the aim of taking focus away from pitch.

this just got me thinking of how insultingly defiant RM was through their copa epic fail and how we'll never hear from it again in the press.
The players & sporting side have been the sole depositories of barcelonismo for a long while now.

I actually think getting more negative attention from the press will help us. It creates a siege mentality , I.e. it's us against the world. A bit of anger amongst our players will realise an unstoppable fighting spirit , the sort of anger we see from Messi being a perfect t example.

The Journalists Association is thinking about suing Dani Alves. [Marca]

May be Bartomeu can finance their lawsuit too to show he's really against Dani.

Yup. If anyone was concerned about us becoming complacement, I think that this should renew the desire to prove once more who is BOSS.
