David De Gea

He cried when he left Atleti. Anything can happen in football, but at this moment, I have no doubt that he will stay. LvG is more likely to be fired than De Gea leaving Man Utd I reckon.

Would you be happy turning out everyweek with phil jones and antonio valencia infront of you when you can earn twice as much at one of the best teams in the world in your home country with your worldy missus? Ed Woodward is going to have to pull out all the stops to keep him here.

That second save he made tonight from Alexis was :worthy:

If I was in his shoes, I'd want to leave but not to Madrid. How can you enjoy the game when one mistake means "St. Iker" will take your place in the 11 next week?

His girlfriend apparently called Manchester uglier than the back of a fridge, she is going to be the biggest reason he signs for Madrid.

Casillas turns 34 in a few weeks, and he seems to really be going downhill lately. If Madrid get De Gea, he's most likely going to be a permanent replacement.

As if Madrid are going to sell Bale. lol Bale is a donkey but he is a goal threat, irrespective of his all time low form in 2015. Maybe if Reus had not extended shipping off Bale for € 100M and paying the buyout clause of Reus (€ 20M, was it?) would have been the coup of the century, receiving € 80M spare for Pogba in the process. But that's not happening anymore. Who would Madrid replace him with? De Gea's contract runs out next year, Madrid don't need to include a big name as a bargaining tool. "€ 20M, take it or leave it, we're going to get him for free next summer".

I'd bet anything he is going to Real Madrid. Way too good for Man United, his entire family and girl are in Madrid, and he wants to win trophies that Manchester United will probably not win i.e. CL.

I remember reading about when he first came to Manchester. He had a horrible time adapting. I think if he was given a chance he'd swim back to Spain.

Iker is on his way out and De Gea is his replacement. He also in his last yr coming up. There is no need for a swap with Bale. If he refuses to extend, Real could probably get him for a bargain like they did with Kroos. So all Real have to do is put in a call to Mendes and let them know they want him.

He isn't like Koke who hates Madrid and would never join them. In fact I've never heard anything bad from De Gea's mouth about Real Madrid especially when he only played senior level with Atleti for like a season and a half. Raul was another Real legend who grew up in the Atletico system and we all know what happened to him.

IMO Casillas is Serie A/Eredivisie level for the last 2 years now. He has a way of getting back into the starting 11 which has nothing to do with performance on the pitch.

Not that I hate RM as much as some people here, but I don't see them winning the CL any time soon. Ancellotti did a brilliant job last year, but they're just at the end of their cycle, kind of like FCB 2012-2013 but not as good.

His parents are in Manchester and are said to have settled really well and enjoy the quieter life, as does De Gea. I haven't watched the interview with his gf but I read it's been twisted and she tweeted positively yesterday about the game with a nice Glory Glory Man Utd hashtag at the end. As for not winning trophies, we've been in a post- Fergie transition but signs are there that we're on the up and we have the financials to compete at the top with no ffp burden.

Even if he does want to return to Spain I've always believed that he will at least extend his current contract and won't leave us in a weak negotiating position. It's quite funny to see the British press now stirring up these De Gea exit stories after the amount of stick they gave him, particularly in his first season.

Apparently the quotes about manchester have been misconstrued by the press (shocker). If Utd were to reach the CL this year, then I caan see him staying. It is much better than going to R.Madrid, he is a huge upgrade on casillas and is still pretty young.

They have a disgusting run-in coming up though, and would do well to survive that in one piece. They're only 4 points ahead of Liverpool, and 5 ahead of Spurs/Southampton, who all have a much easier set of fixtures.

In their next 5 games, they face Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and Everton at Goodison (who always give United a challenge).
