David De Gea

I know it's considered "hip" here to downplay anything or anyone associated with the premier league but that is that's the most ridiculous attempt at it also playing the ball successfully in the vicinity of your most dominant player in the air is good distribution in my books...

In the EPL book, yes. But the world of football don't follow EPL standards. Nothing ridiculous about my observation, on the contrary. When I say top bracket I mean the top 3 in every aspect. Sorry, but not sorry. Not everyone rates the madridista as highly as ManU fans do. May be because our football viewing is not limited to any one particular league.

Tbf, I think we're just spoilt by the pinpoint accurate Xavi-esque long passes from our new GK-s.

flawed logic... How will United have any say in where De Gea would play the following season if his contract is about to expire?

lack of playing time is probably not gonna hurt his chances with NT because he is by far the best young Spanish keeper and if he went to Real as a free agent he will laugh all his way to the bank

The meltdown part would be gold though :p

I'd sell him to Barca (for cheap) in January 2016, just to spite Real

Fact is he is still under contract by then, even though it's just for three more months. He has to honor that or risk making himself look a fool to other top clubs.

Also, what the hell is up with the EPL bias here? I guess you were all in the 'Suarez is overrated becuz EPL sux' camp last summer

Implying that De Gea is actually close in ability to Bravo

Won't argue with MAtS though.

I dont think anybody said that. Its been established DDG is better at shot stoping and a better keeper, but not great at distribution with Bravo is good at.

Well opinions like De Gea is good all round keeper but doesn't excel in any particular aspect suggests people here have some sort of bias against EPL players. I'm out here defending him when I should be seriously pissed off at him for putting us in such a terrible situation because of how seriously underrated he is here.

I also wouldn't mind Leno . The dude kept 16 clean sheets in Bundesliga for a club that finished 4th, 5 points away from 3rd and 18 points away from 1st.

This transfer could take a while to sort out, DDG doesn't seem to be involved in the Ramos transfer and United will apparently hold out for £32m or 45m euros for him or just run his contract down.

I don't understand why he hasn't just handed a transfer request in and asked to leave? Is he scared to do it or what? Such an odd situation.

He clearly wants to join madrid and madrid want him so why is it taking so long? And why has there been barely any concrete news on bids etc Apparently there hasn't been any but i keep hearing sums of 20 million euros and around that figure. So frustrating that it is being dragged out this long.

Signing Valdes was a brilliant move from the club because it allows us to play hardball without worrying about replacement.Looking at how things stand Perez cannot afford to wait for De Gea's contract to expire whereas we can afford to draw this until the last minute because we already have a decent replacement...

Loyalty bonus, plus he will probably get even more slack from the AM fans if he hands in a transfer request.

I think the club are fed up with DDG & Madrid for trying to leave for peanuts, and we may bench him for Valdes untill he signs a new contract something he will not want to risk with Euro's coming up. Madrid also need a new keeper with Casillas past it, was not good enough against Juve and it knocked them out something they surely can not risk again.

I don't think he'll sign a new contract if we bench him but we'll be able to scout for a new keeper and get the opportunity to test Valdes without being completely reliant on him...
