Oh bugger off, no one said he is the new Iniesta, they are relatively the same age and he does not shy away when things get tough for him. His time with the Spanish national team was crap when he was pushed outside to the left and was depictive of any player who joins the Barcelona players, they all struggle massively.

He carried City for so long, for a period longer than Iniesta ever carried Barcelona on his back, who by the way had many better players available. His form dipped and dipped big time sure, but he was bound to suffer eventually and for a while.

A lot is said about Yaya Toure coming back to save the team but it makes sense, because Yaya is a massive part of this team.

Too bad Silva was great for Spain under Aragones, he only turned to crap when Del Bosque had to force more Madridistas (mainly Xabi Alonso) into the team.

Silva was a force when he was with Xavi, Iniesta and Senna.

Preach on. I think Silva still holds some kind of record of a 40+ unbeaten run of games with the national team.

Fair enough, yet you cannot complain, for one you like Ortega, second of all your opinion on football does not matter since you rate Messi higher than Martin Palermo and finally they won the WC. Fortunately for you, that Handsome Canadian Lumberjack Lookin' Boy (1) you speak of took a wall breaking kick right into the chest, had it been one of your divers, *cough* I mean one of your players he would have been split in half, perhaps retired from football.

But anyway, now that the brat ran his mouth in the media, got his call up and actually did well Del Bosque will play him. Your major face palm would be when he is omitted for Cesc Fabregas.

I see La Furia did well to recruit some fans and hop on his wagon. Now all of you will sound smart, cheer leader effect.

I'd rather wish he had joined Madrid and we got Ozil instead of Cesc.

Silva is a very, very good player but his form doesn't last the entire season.

You mean like the last 2 El Clasicos????? particularly the one where he provided the assist for the winning goal???

Barca was garbage in the last Clasico, and that was his first good one after years of being a running joke. And where was 60 minute Mesut in Europe this year?

60 minute Mesut has the most assists in La liga in the last 2 years which is hugely impressive especially considering the fact that he is just 23 and hasn't even reached his peak yet. He provided 24 assists in all competitions last year which were most by any one and he did this when he was just 22. I've always rooted against Real Madrid but I appreciate good talent when I see it and I'd take Mesut over Silva.

And what do you mean by 'years of running joke'??? Last season was his first at Madrid and getting out-performed last year in the Classicos by the likes of Iniesta,Xavi and company when you're just 22 is no big shame. Also, last season Mourinho largely played a very defensive formation in the EL Classicos and this season he's playing a much more attacking and agressive line-up,playing with a high line and that has made better use of Mesut.

Ozil has been the man of the match in the last 2 clasicos IMO which shows that he is maturing and has improved which is not a huge surprise as he's still pretty young. He's the only effective playmaker that Real have and is just as important to them as Cristiano.

There you go..
The new Iniesta! Amazing player!

My evaluation of the City player is not on the basis of select but significant viewing this past season. While he carries the team against the Wigans, Wolves, Blackburns...he's been anonymous in high profile/tight games where his team needed him the most(form or otherwise). Even the spineless Nasri was preferred to him in the run-in. Whilst i don't deny his quality, to make comparisons with the Don, who's the very definition of a big game player, and has come trumps in the biggest of games and occasion is ludicrous. Silva has never commanded or influenced crunch encounters the way Andrés has, nor is his skillset on par with the latter.

He was more important to City's run than Dzeko though.
