Denis Suarez

Now you’re really scraping the barrel. Teams commit professional fouls all the time to waste time. Like when he was hauled down in middle of the pitch.

Where is his passing option here? Unless you’re suggesting he gives the ball away...

This is the challenge. That tackle would take down an ox.

This is where he was hauled down in the middle. Where should he release ball to?

Well said! Couldn't bother to put him in his place, but I'm glad you did

I study culinary arts and i never knew that humans can be cooked.

Gotta go back to Guyton's cooking again or else i might get asked this when i face a customer with a eating disorder.

Never heard of cannibalism?

Or creutzfeldt-jakob disease which killed many people in cannibalistic societies in the past?

Read about them

And by the way, guyton doesn't have a cooking book

Pic no1: pass the ball to a free player on the right (is that Busi?) and DON'T try to dribble past 2-3 players because you will either lose the ball or get fouled (and lose 60 seconds).
That free player will run until 2 opponents will surround him and then he will pass the ball to the next free player, usually on the flank, because 4 opponents are now "lost" by chasing Denis and then Busi.

Pic no3, I am quite sure that there are more players on the left.
If not, lol, what has Denis expected? To dribble all these players (4 of them) and go alone and score with his average dribbling skills, average pace and too high falling-down-under-the-slightest-touch ability.

If there was no one around (and again, imo, there were players on the left), he should have done Xaviesque or Busquetsesque turn back and pass the ball to a free teammate in a better position, usually a backpass or the pass to the opposite, right flank where there is more free space and less opponents.
Unless, again if you guys or him think that he could have solved this situation in 1 vs 1 dribbling duels...

You know that feeling when Rakitic tries to dribble a player and then he loses the ball and usually falls down in the end?
Well, this was the same.

There was zero possibility that Denis will do something in these situations with his level of dribbling skills, pace, physique and decisions making.
He was too eager to take the ball and do something (in a solo action), as if he is some sort of a key player. And just kept losing the ball or ending on the ground over and over.

I'll say it here: Bartra, Sergi Roberto and now Denis are three the most overrated (and biased) players on this forum, in the last 5 years.
I will never understand what has this guy done to earn such
a huge amount of love and so many credits by some of you.

BBZ hated Neymar, now Denis, I predict Dembele is next. Skillful wingers will always try to be proactive and move the ball forward, it's only natural they're going to lose it or get fouled once in a while.

No wonder he likes the 4-4-2 wingerless formation so much.

Contrary to popular belief I don’t think Denis and Roberto are World class players... I think they have potential but most of all they’re better players than Rakitic, Gomes, Paco and on current form Suarez should be benched and Denis should be used as a wing. Lack of wings is crippling us at the moment.

If the players playing ahead of them were world class on form players you wouldn’t hear a peep from me but as it stands they’re being shafted so rubbish can start week in week out.

And to answer your observations... In pic 1 Denis receives a down the line pass from Alba. The Celta player has already covered the passing option.

In Pic 3 I didn’t see any player on the left and judging by the movement of the defenders there doesn’t appear to be anybody there. But even if there was Denis was waiting for the play to develop. That he gets pulled down is not his fault.

Nothanks

I just don't see what everyone else sees..

reminds me of hazard in the sense he can pull some great roulettes and dribbles but in the end it comes to nothing.. he was in the box did great dribbles to only end up passing the ball to digne who then passes to vermalean lol

and his highlight of the game is the assist to mathieus own goal but that was opposite to what people rave about him.. it was a simple play with a simple cross.. maybe he should be more simple instead of trying to dribble 3 people to later miss a pass

but who knows maybe i just wasn't paying enough attention was cooking while watching the game afterall

Still more useful than all our other midfielders (bar Busi and Iniesta)...and midfield isn't even his best position.
