Denis Suarez

So he’s surely a better option off the bench over Paulinho and Gomes right? He can’t back up Busi or Rakitic but I’d rather him on the pitch over those two

He's pretty bad tbh, but he's bad in a "Barca bench" kind of way, while Paulinho and Gomes are bad in a "Why are you at Barca" kind of way. It's extremely stupid that he has been permanently benched, while Gomes gets to play even though he's so bad he cries at night about it by his own admission.

If we don't get any over the top bids for him this summer he should stay as rotation and backup player.

Not sure why he got totally outcasted and all of a sudden starting to play recently. It's clear as day he is so much better than Gomes. Gomes screwed up his first pass as soon as he comes on.

Nope, sell.

Sell and sign a more useful player if possible. If we keep him for another season his value will go down so much that he'll leave for free. I'll take a 20m bid for him.

A couple of good looking dribbles where the lost the ball and people on reddit and twitter start thinking he's the deal again. Not getting fooled again.

We will be needing LM sub for Coutinho next year since Iniesta is likely leaving.
I do hope it's Denis. Improved Denis or Villarreal Denis, that is

I would keep him and sell Gomes rather than selling both and buying another mediocre midfielder as a bench player, which would cost anyway 30M+.

We've payed 35-40 mil or whatever the price was for gomes and the club wants to get some of the money back while for Denis we probably can sell him for peanuts. I feel like Valverde wanted to give Gomes the Denis Suarez treatment , it was obvious he was visibly frustrated with him but after a while Gomes came out in press to cry about how he's feeling sad and depressed when he plays . Now Valverde has to play him to not look like the bad guy.

I hadn't considered this. Maybe Valverde does feel pressured to give Gomes minutes now. It makes sense.

As far as I'm concerned(my opinion), Denis got no business playing for Barca, even as a Coutinho sub. He's simply not an attacking midfielder. He's a winger/wide midfielder that would get bullied off the ball by Giovinco.

Sell him and sign another talented, actual midfielder as Coutinho's deputy if possible.

The board need to start selling players while they actually have some value. Gomes, Denis, Deulofeu, Rafinha, Munir, all need to be sold. We'll use a part of that to sign Griezmann. We also have Arthur joining.

He did well for Villarreal, but was still not even a top 3 player for them. Doing well for Villarreal doesn't mean anything, especially considering their system was very different to ours.

Maybe Alena and Coutinho on the AM spot, with Rakitic and Arthur on the CM spot, with also Roberto and Paulinho as options.

Yes that's decent, although while I used to be a huge fan of Alena, I've turned sceptical of him lately. I cannot explain it, but there's something that's just off when I watch him play. I feel like he'll play in any of the three attack/forward positions more than as a midfielder in his career.

Looking at Real Madrid's midfield, I would love to have someone like Eriksen there with Coutinho. I cannot say for sure how it would work, but Coutinho-Busquets-Eriksen sounds tasty on paper. Having a midfield like that would really make us great. Then you have Arthur who can also play in Busi's role, Alena and Paulinho behind.

Money issues though. Especially with Griezmann on his way.
