If Arsenal can't pay now, then they should get him on a loan with an obligatory option to buy in the summer. Problem solved.

I think there is more to it.

According to reports, thats what Barca wants but Arsenal doesn't want an obligatory option, which is why the move broke down.

Perisic is goting to Arsenal so there is no way they'll buy Denis. This kid needs to realize his place is in some smaller La Liga team. Can't understand that brain of his?! You are young so go and play somewhere instead of sitting in stands FFS!

not every player has same ambitions......

for ex:

maybe denis is okay living in barcelona, making good wages, watching all barca matches from the first row and training everyday?

it sounds like a good life to me. the status of playing for barca can never be matched. y go to a midtable team and fight again when u can stay on barca bench and enjoy life?

So lets say his wage drops by 80% in some smaller La Liga team. Its not hard to understand that players want to stay in Barcelona and keep their wages they are contracted to.

It won't drop by 80% for sure. He probably has the smallest wage in our team, not to mention Sevilla and Betis want him and those are two very good teams. It's not like Leganes or Huesca are his only options. Imagine what will happen in summer of 2020 when his contract expires after one more year of sitting on the bench. He won't get good offers and his wages will be even smaller. If he has ANY ambition at all he should go now, it's his last chance to make something of his career.

How much do Betis pay their players compared to us? Our revenues are 7 times higher. If we assume they spend 60% of their revenues on wages like us, our wages are 7 times higher.

I am sure Barca would be willing to negotiate with Denis that one year salary difference if that's the only problem! Sevilla and Betis are perfect clubs for him. He is living in a dreamland if he thinks he could make it in PL. He is soft as it gets and English football is definitely not for him, and Arsenal would return him back to Barca within 6 months causing his price to drop further.

Understandable. Why would Arsenal buy an above average player in Denis Suárez who is completely unproven in England when you can loan him and see if he has what it takes? I don't think that it will be easy to get rid of him and at the same time actually receive a solid transfer fee for him.

There is no way that Sevilla or Betis are offering €20 million for him. That is just a bad joke and a very bad rumor.

Apparently loaned out to Arsenal for €2.5 million until the end of the season. There will be no obligatory buyout clause.

Arsenal will pay his full wages.

Denis will prolong his contract with one year so it will end in 2021 instead of 2020 as well. Helping us avoid situations like the one with Munir.

Romero says Denis will be loaned out to Arsenal until the end of the season. He agrees to renew his contract with Barça for one more year. Arsenal have the option to buy Denis Suárez at the end of the season. It’s not mandatory.

James for øzil as they are same kind of players, and denis is a good squad option for them. He will play left wing as a substitue for auba

I'm not happy about just the loan and only option to buy, he'll probably be back come June, but at least we got him out for the time being, thus preventing Valverde to be stupid and call up Denis instead of Alena/Malcom on match days. And 2,5M is not a bad sum for only a 6-month loan, to be honest.
