I'm not sure whether to be happy or sad about this news.

Those Arsenal pricks will never activate that buyout though.

Disgusting club.

If our intent is to eventually sell him, a loan without a buy option is definitely not ideal. However, given that Denis does not want to go to any other teams that want him except Arsenal this is more of a favor the club did to placate him.

Yep, same shit deal like with Rafinha and Inter, i knew all along they weren't gonna pay that 35M, no matter how much everyone tried to insinuate that they will. They were always gonna try to negotiate for a lesser fee like 20M, i mean how can you agree to an apparent obligatory fixed buy clause, and then go back on your word and try to negotiate it down? Especially when he was quite good for them in his time there, stayed healthy and played a lot of good minutes for them, disgusting behaviour from Inter in that case. And i don't exactly see Arsenal doing any better, as they're a lot similar in that regard, always trying for this bullshit loan deals with options to buy, that they never exercise of course.

The solution is fine for me. Was the Betis-20m rumour real? If so, that would have been better. But who knows, if Denis shows his talent and put some good performances for arsenal other PL-clubs may show interest. Its a fine solution all in all, and 3 years ago our wouldnt have got the 2,5m euros, thats for sure.

And ofc including the 1 year extension is also solid work imo.

The most important thing is he'll play well so if Arsenal won't decide to buy he'll at least generate interest of other clubs, maybe from our new best friends (Everton).

maybe he plays well in the PL and some other club will pay that ammount for him

happened before.

Yep, and if he'll have a similar impact than Paco then we could actually be happy if Arsenal won't have a buy option because we could possibly get even more than 20M. It's unlikely but stranger things have happened.

Apparently loaned out to Arsenal for €2.5 million until the end of the season. There will be no obligatory buyout clause.

Arsenal will pay his full wages.

Denis will prolong his contract with one year so it will end in 2021 instead of 2020 as well. Helping us avoid situations like the one with Munir.

Sport reporting it as well.

Not too bad.

There is no buyout option as I wrote initially. Arsenal is loaning him for the reminder of the season for €2.5 million. In return Denis agreed to extend his contract with 1 year until 2021. This would help us sell him for a higher fee than otherwise expected this upcoming summer. There was never any chance of Arsenal actually agreeing to a obligatory buyout clause and Denis did not want to remain in Spain so not much else could be done here and now. The deal is actually good.

If he succeeds at Arsenal, the clubs will be free to negotiate a transfer from scratch. A bidding war could even emerge from other clubs. If he fails at Arsenal, he would be more likely to be willing to return to Spain and in such a case a deal could be worked out with Betis, Sevilla or other potentially interested clubs.

I don't believe Betis would pay 20M straight and if the clubs would negotiate that high buy option it would be even more unlikely Betis would execute that clause than Arsenal.

I think the club prefered him to go to Betis to keep good relations with them. As I've mentioned a few days ago it's quite possible Abidal&Co. are keeping an eye on Junior Firpo (or possibly Lo Celso and other Betis players) and would try to negotiate a first option on him.

It's better to loan him to EPL team, chances we could sell him high if he performs. Sitting on the bench for us won't help us offloading him.

Also, I don't believe that Liga teams have offered 20m for him.

He has very little time to settle in and perform, so he probably must do really well in the few games he'll play if they are going to sign him at the end of the season.
