In the first half he barely touched the ball, Villareal as a whole were disastrous. In the second half he was much better: good passing and dribbling, drawing fouls, crossing improved and delivered the assist for the equaliser. Could've had two more assists.

Makes sense since Alen still needs constant playing time and Rafinha will be back long with Roberto already solidifying his place in the team. If Suarez/Rafinha or Halilovic come good then Rakitic will probably be on his way out.
