Yannik would have said the same had Lewandowski had more years on his deal and tried to force his way out to Bayern, after they instigated him to do so.
I used to think the same way. 'Let him rot on the bench', but that's just not how it works. No one here would complain if Verratti did the same in PSG to come to Barca.
Sure he signed a contract, but West Ham are also getting double the money they signed Payet for. Why are footballers berated for wanting to change their employer when most of us would do the same for happiness and/or better terms?
I admit I get annoyed when some players chase the money instead of the trophies, especially since the trophies will lead to more money anyway, by getting recognized by more sponsors, but in the end it's an individual choice of what matters more to you there and then.
