Well, maybe not the best, but one of the best defenders on the world surely. When you are chosen for the best defender in Premier League (which is probably the best league on the world) it is clear sign you are worth.

It's no doubt he is better than Chygrynskiy, but I have already told it's (im)possible mission to get him.

If I am not objective - UEFA nominated 12 players for the Player of the year award, and there are 3 defenders: Vidić, Pique and Terry. There are even 6 our players

My biggest wish is to see Vidić in Barca But maybe Chygrynskiy is not too bad...

Yep, looks to be a done deal...I like the player, a lot...Strong, very calm, composed and sure in both defense and moving forward...I really believe his transition to Barca football will be a relatively seamless one...He will be the future in my opinion...He'll likely play the left CB...Just watch how accurately he can spray the long balls.

The transfer fee still seems a bit high to me. Might be strange, but i didnt have a problem with Ibras fee, maybe b/c i knew exactly what we would get. Since thats sth i absolutely cant say regarding Chryg ...

I'm happy with this transfer. Hope it's confirmed soon. I thought Henrique could do a job but it looks like he's not in Pep's plans. Cáceres is gone too so another CB will be a good signing. Oh, not to forget Milito and his injury :sad: Cruyff says we need a CB, so I'm all for it.

the fee is a bit high but like I said, I think pep had identified certain players needed to reinforce the team (rather than just which positions needed reinforcing) and the club has moved to get those players. he obviously sees chygrynskiy as the next iron giant of the east (after vidic) although the fact that he can play as well is likely key.

he seems pretty quick, at least from the clips I've seen, so that's good.

it's sensible for the future, common sense will say one of fontas and muniesa won't make it (for whatever reason) so we need one more top-class CB (piqué, fontas/muniesa, ???) for the future as rafa is finished and puyol is on the way down or will be soon.
