Dmytro Chygrynskiy

Lemmi

The Reckoner
muniesa is the don. he will be starting at LB within 2 years, his leap in fantastic. im excited to see dymi, i think we may have made a mistake not using caceres as back up for the full back positions more where i think he can be very good.

what is the reported fee?

Well Pep got some credits after last year, and he don't want Txiki to pick players anymore (Caseres, Hleb, Henrique...). He likes Chyg even thou he can not play CL for us.. We'll see. I think it's close..

Yeah, not a bad highlight vid but there are many of them out there...Not unlike Barca, can build from their backline and Dmytro is their main catalyst...Makes me feel pretty confident that he'll have a smooth transition to the club

his passing range and ball distribution seem excellent to me, but he dwells on the ball too long. Also I'm not content with the reported fee(25M?, imo this is too much) and they should have got him a lot earlier. Preseason is basically over and he is gonna need a lot of time to adapt(culture, language etc). Also he's not eligible to play in the CL, management made a screw up here. In the long term he could prove to be an excellent buy, but atm I'm not so convinced.

Very happy about the signing. I am not really bothered about money. I ain't the accountant for the club but I don't think €25 million is a lot for Barca. Good signing who could play in midfield during ACON.

There's a real Puyol flair about him...You can never have too many sure/confident defenders...At his age too?...I think he's a great buy

The price is going to be a bit high but he's only 22; and comparing him to Vidic b/c of that is a bit pointless. He doesn't play on a world-class team or league, once he's on Barca we'll see what he's really made of. At 22 tho, if he proves himself as solid as we hope then he's definately worth the money and a great investment. I think Pep is willing to gamble on that.

Being able to dish 25 million on a defender gets me thinking tho, if we really wanted Cesc or Silva we could of got them. But judging by how awesome Toure has been so far this year I'm not too worried, yet. All I'm gonna say is pray that Xavi and Iniesta stay healthy b/c with the current squad they aren't replacable by any subs by a long shot. I would of loved to see Iniesta/Cesc/Xavi as a starting midfield with Toure available when we'd be facing a strong attacking team- Bousquets/Keita as defensive/offensive resting rotation. Dont forget the available youngsters for resting as well.

We could have gotten Chygrynskiy earlier for the same price and available for CL. Paying the same price now is admitting we can`t negotiate shite.

It's a very good point...Although I think it points more to the divide between Txiki & Pep...Txiki tends to go the cheap route and only will go full force in negotiations that he too believes is essential...In this scenario, he's made it pretty clear on occasions that he didn't find Dmytro essential like Pep has.

I wonder if this has also played into Pep's renewal plans and interest in having more say in transfer decisions.

In some ways, I get the 'feeling' that transfer plans weren't planned and executed in an organized manner starting before the transfer period began...Just a case of it being Pep's first season as coach?...If he were to stay, I would suspect that either Txiki or whomever takes over for him will have to be on the same page better than what we've come to see this past summer

yup.

but the thing is, pep wants dym, shakhtar tried to ward us off by playing him, but pep still wants him. we should have wrapped the deal up before the CL qualifiers but txiki works slowly.

so we should have negotiated a lower price. but txiki isn't the best at that. and pep still wanted chygrynskiy. and shakhtar still didn't want to sell. so really nothing had changed from their p.o.v. and txiki isn't slick enough to convince them otherwise, so that's why the value is the same.
