Douglas Pereira dos Santos

Barçapocalypse NOW!
It's not like any team wants him, right? We're stuck with him... And remember we spent more money and him than the one we are receiving for Sandro and Alves combined!

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??
I fully expect a very chill douglas appearing for the first game in august, sitting next to the players, them whispering "dude you are not supposed to be here", him going "huh, why not?", then stadium security throwing him out while he's shouting "Im lord douglas, you will never get rid of me!!".

I doubt this will happen. Right now we have 24 registered first team players and if as rumoured Bartra, Vermaelen, Adriano, Sandro and Munir will leave we'll have to bring in Denis and 5 other players to get to 25 players limit so Douglas could stay without his number. The most I could see us is to buy Denis and 3-4 other players. That's not even counting a possibility that Alves and/or Masche go and I also didn't count Masip as his number will just be given to Ortola if he leaves.

Anyway, I think if our only possibility to get rid of Douglas is to loan him and pay most or all his wages to play for another team then I'd rather just keep him here and give him some games in CDR especially if Alves leaves and we won't buy a new RB as I expect. In that case Vidal and Roberto will be our primary RBs and Roberto will probably have to cover sometimes for Busquets as well, so Lord could get his chance here or there. Monchi seems to like him and maybe he really has something to show if he gets some more regular playing time. And of course he's a guarantee for us to win trophies, so just keep him. :douglas:

If we keep him, we should register him for Barca B. Douglas could play there every week and and probably would not care about it. His wages would stay the same and he could train with the 1st team any time if necessary.

Nah then he just shouldn't play, like he did for the past two seasons. No point in giving his minutes to a young guy who actually wants to become a footballer.

Song isn't even registered for us right now, and Munir is more set to stay than he is to leave. Bartra, Vermaelen, and Adriano are all looking to be replaced, and the club has been somewhat active in trying to find a 4th forward that would take Sandro's spot. And that's not even counting the B team players we tend to register (Mainly for the CL) whether they actually get any minutes or not.

He's already proven himself not to be good enough for even the early copa games. Why would we cripple ourselves by playing him there? We could easily just use a B teamer.

Why give a player proven to be dogshit any playing time at all when we have a B team full of defenders who have worked their entire lives in hope of even getting a few first team minutes? I hope that last sentence means this was all just a joke post.

But why? You do realize the B team is for B team players, right? Assuming Douglas is even good enough to start for Barca B (Which is questionable), why would we block off any potential RB growth by using Douglas there? Why are you so desperate for him to find a place that you propose sending him to the place our youngsters go to improve to stop them from improving? I really hope this is a joke post, too.
