El Clasico: Real Madrid - FC Barcelona 0-4

No, it wasn't far off the mark at the time he said so. Ozil has some spectacular months at RM while Xavi had quiet moments at barça. Of course in the long run it's not even worth an answer.

My brother would watch Ronaldo score two headers in one game and be like

Holy crap that came out big.

That double pivot garbage better be bullshit.

If he isn't starting Messi but is starting Rakitic, makes sense to do this:

[formation=barca,6]
Bravo
0-0-Piqué-0-Vermalen-0-0
Dani-0-0-0-0-0-Alba
0-0-0-Busi-0-0-0
0-0-Raki-0-Roberto-0-0
0-0-0-Iniesta-0-0-0
0-Suarez-0-0-0-Neymar-0
0-0-0-0-0-0-0
[/formation]

Messi probably won't start, which is a good call. The game will be very though, real will filed their starting 11, including Benzema, Ramos, Marcello, Navas and thus make it hard for us. They were solid defensively, minus the Sevilla game (no Ramos or Navas) and somehow i expect our midfield to be slightly overrun by theirs.

Realistically, a tie would be awesome, but somehow i feel that we'll lose narrowly, something line 2-0 for them at half time, sub Messi on, late goal 2-1 final score.

Before all of you jump out screaming that i don't trust the team, or that we've been raising our game, keep in mind that a Classic is a whole different ball game and they will show up, like they always do on home turf

I think Madrid's current approach really suits us. Benitez will probably let his team sit deep and try to absorb pressure instead of pressing high and trying to win the ball in our half which is deadly for us if executed properly (remember Mourinho's Real in some games). Especially with Messi (who does not give a fuck about being pressed) out or not starting they could hurt us in that department but it looks like that will not happen.
What also suits us is that an offense run by Benitez relies on the individual actions of it's players and does not really have a proper system. What hurts us the most imo is an offense that tries to overload a flank and uses the majority in that area to work the channels and get behind the defense. A good example of that was Di Maria's role as a free roaming central midfielder and how he drifted to the left flank to overrun Alves' side together with the LB and Cristiano.

If Benitez does not change his approach I expect us to dominate possession and be able to circulate the ball quite well. Does not mean we will win the game but I am quite confident that we will look good and perform well.

i dont know, real vs sevilla first half was all about pressing sevilla on their half, and they looked like they will gonna trash sevilla, when they scored goal, they start to defend and look for counter attacks, sevilla then take the ball and dominate the game. So i expect pressing from real from first minute and i believe that lucho is preparing team for this.

RM overall is playing very boring, defensive football, it's seems to me that they don't even looking for counters, they are just trying to defend 1 goal lead or playing for 0-0 like it was against PSG. I think it will be the same tomorrow, we are all hyped up about it, but I am predicting a boredomfest.

Mostly RM is inconsistent. They were utterly outplayed against PSG at the bernabeu (incredibly lucky win) but were by far the superior team at PSG's stadium.

This is what I am expecting - like PSG did, we will outplay them, we'll have a lot of chances, but Navas will save them again and again, but we'll see, Messi coming on as a sub could be crucial for this match.

Btw Marca reporting that all RM's first team players are training normally.
