Yeah Juve look good, they've signed well, I reckon they'll get Serie A. I hope we don't draw them in the CL.

Man United sold their most productive player (Ronaldo) as well as Tevez and got Valencia who isn't by any means near Ronaldo's level and the injury-prone Owen who past his best. So definitely United 09/10 are weaker than United 08/09/10.

Liverpool lost one of their most influential players Xabi Alonso and Sami Hyypiaand replaced them with Aquilani, who has zero experience at Premier League, and Kirgiakos who isn't at the same level as Hyypia. They got Glen Johnson who is more adopted to the English game than Arbeloa, but their bench is still short of players and Liverpool looks weaker this season.

Arsenal were forced to sell Adebayor and Toure ,two of their key players, to City and got only Vermaelen, who is a very solid defender indeed. The only advantage for them is that their team is one year older, hence more experienced, but the loss of Adebayor (way better than Bendtner) and Toure make them a weaker team.

Only Chelsea are building on their previous squad, they have kept all important players and brought Zhirkov, who could be a real bargain for them. The only problem for them is that their squad is one year older and every further year could be crucial for ageing players such as Drogba, Anelka, Ballack, Lampard etc.

On the other hand Inter, Real Madrid and Juve look like they have imroved their teams. So yes, there is a little decline for the English top clubs

People can talk all they want.

Only ONE THING will prove us all correct or wrong.

That is results on the pitch.

Until then we can all open our trap holes and talk crap, but I would not be surprised to see 3 EPL teams in the semis yet again.

You see it is that untangible quality people do not see when assessing the current state of european football.
The english teams atm have the know how, the experience, the willingness and most important of all, when the heat is on they know how to grind out results.

That is why I only think Barca and Real are a threat to the english teams. Inter are Inter - the jokes of europe who will do as they always do and choke. Juve have an exciting team but I worry about their lack of speed at the back and one of two other things as well. In actual fact it would not surprise me to see Milan do better than any other Italian clubs. Because of the untangible sources I stated.

I hate playing english teams in europe so I hope there is a more range of different european sides in the latter stages, but I am still convinced 3 epl teams will make the semis.

of what i've seen so far this year from them, chelsea looks very vulnerable to quick counter attacks.

man.u chelsea and arsenal.

impossible. the final will be Real Madrid v FCB.

I'm calling a Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter, FCB semi-final lineup right now. Inter may be the 'jokes' of Europe traditionally, but they have a great team managed by a great manager who made the top three managers in England bow to him (and Rafa as well).

agree with you Irv here.. though it's between Juve-Inter for me with Inter having the upper hand
Inter are not the jokes of Europe.. it's Ed broken record and imaginary friend

What the hell are you on :D

Until proven otherwise no one can say any the wiser about a power shift in european football.

Yes Jose made Rafa bow to him in THREE semis Irv............yes Jose is God. Inter are jokes until - again proven otherwise.

How people can say otherwise without proof is a joke.

If in 12 months time the roles have reversed then so be it, but currently I only see Barca and Real as threats to 3 epl teams in the semis.
