I'd say it was a mixture of both :D I think Hodgson is doing good work even if I will forever carry a beef with him due to his Liverpool- time, but what he has done with the team so far is something that I quite like.

I gotta give it to England today... that was a seriously entertaining display of football.
Great ball movement, a lot of creativity, and constant pressure.

4-3-3 with Wilshere and Cleverley in midfield. Who knew it could be good on the eye?

About time England switched from the boring 4-4-2.

Wasn't perfect though. Welbeck looked out of place on the left.

A nice result considering we pressed the self-destruction button for about five minutes after Cahill's blunder.

It was nice to see England play with some creativity rather than route 1 boring football.
One thing I don't get is how Carrick is a regular starter for ManU but can't get a callup. Gerrard is a versatile player and did a phenomenal job as a holding mid but Carrick is like the English Busquets.

Hodgeson should try Gerrard - Carrick - Wilshire next time out.

Carrick pulled out through injury but yeah he doesn't get much of a chance for England

Oh alright. I think even when fit he used to be overlooked for players like Gareth Barry which was a mistake.

I hope that Carrick gets playing time; Carrick - Gerrard - Wilshere would be one sexy English midfield.

Interesting to note that after all being at St. George's Park together the Seniors, U21's and U19's all set up as a 4-3-3 for their games this week.

Probably a bit too Real Madrid(ish) for most people's tastes, but I quite like it.
