With this news, it is now clear how miraculous it has been for Abidal to have performed so well over the last year. What a bonus this has been for him, for the team, and for all of us.

Now is the time to support Eric. Barca faces a lottery tomorrow, the CL draw. Abidal faces ultimate lotteries. Getting matched in time with a compatible donor liver, surviving the operation, not rejecting the liver, how much recovery is possible after that. When you learn you need a liver transplant, how soon you might get back to work is not at the top of your list.

very sad news, a liver transplant is a very serious operation. the procedure itself takes about 8-12 hours and is one of the longest operations that exist. after the surgery, the patient needs to be on immunosuppression which prevents the body from rejecting the new liver, but places the patient at a great risk for life threatening infections. the tumor situation was built up to be more than it was by the media, but this is legitimately a very scary situation. as a med student i did an 2 month rotation with the transplant surgery team at my hospital, and trust me liver transplants are no joke. i'll be praying for king eric, the one thing he has always had going for him is that he has a huge heart and a tremendous will to recover. in medicine this plays much more of a role than people give it credit for.

get well soon king eric!!

what as did?

Amazing how quickly they pulled that photo

It was a screenshot I believe, right Clockwise?...A screenshot of the webpage of AS and instead of Abidal's picture with the story, they had a pic of 'the other black dude'...or Seydou Keita
