I honestly think that from all the players who could have made a difference if they had been in form these last 2 games(Villa, Pedro, Abi, Pique), Eric was the biggest loss. He has everything you could wish from a defender:speed, brains, height and heart. Tactically he was the most important piece for Pep's 3-4-3 system..I don't know how and by whom he could be replaced, but it's obvious that a LB should be our club's no.1 priority.

There was little chance of that to begin with. Undergoing this kind of procedure rarely yields a return to previous form. For now, I just hope he makes a full recovery. That would be enough of a gift.

Truly unbelivable how he was actually the only good defensive Left back around these last few years. A.Cole and Evra are shadow of what they used to be and Contrao and Marcelo are better at attacking than defending. Only other player who is actually a defensively solid left-back is Lahm but he prefers to be a right-back anyway.
