Absolutely gutted that Abi is leaving. If he wanted to stay and understood that he wouldn't have too much playing time, then it's a poor decision to not offer him a new contract. He'd be a fantastic member of the squad to have; experienced, calm, classy. Not to mention that he's a symbol of sheer will and determination to come back after cancer twice. I'm not going to resort to ranting about Rosell's shortcomings on this thread, because it would take away from a legendary player.

Thanks for everything, King Eric. :abidal:

We need a defensive minded LB now. Surely Adriano can't play RB, CB, and LB...or can he? :tito:

This could mean Montoya will get more minutes since he can cover both RB and LB.

Even the offer to return to the club later in a non-playing position seems to be in bad taste now.

So poorly handled.

Thank you for everything Abi. Merci. You are player we will never forget, in a team we will never forget.

Yep, and as I said earlier I can understand the club's decision to let Abidal go. I am not one of the ones posting "Fuck off Rosell".. but for some reason he assumes that was me.

Hehe, yeah I didn't meant my post to you but for all of us here. I mean, we are not as good as the journalist wrote on their paper or articles (I know there so many romantic stories, yes it's beautiful, but not all true). We have our bad side too (like how we threat our unwanted players), but that is how we are. We are is what we are, we should know and accept that. Didn't mean we threat unwanted players bad then we are Madrid, we are not Barca anymore (LOL, nowadays people seems like to say "we are not Madrid" ) it just how we really are, it's still us, so just accept it even it is not really good.

Btw this is kind of ironic and sad, we are need strengthen our defence, yet our 1st signing is a forward and we released a CB.

I dont have a problem with the club releasing Abi if they think Abi cant contribute to the team. Abi lifting the Cl trophy certainly shows the club gave enough respect to Abi. My problem is that if the club thinks Abi is not fit to play even a few minutes which was all Abi wanted then how do they think that Tito is fit enough to manage the team for a whole season. Why different yardsticks? Why Abi is not given "benefit of the doubt" especially when Abi has shown that he's 2x better than Pique even in his condition

Someone remind me how we display "mes que un club"? Stuff like this makes me question what it is about the club that's different, and why I even like Barça.

Was it really Rosell's decision or were Tito and Zubi responsible?

Do you believe Tito and Zubi has the power to surpass Rosell's decision and make theirs priority? If Rosell wanted, I am sure there would have been a way possible.

The foundation of Cruyff, Catalonia,Unicef totally dismantled after Rosell took over the office. Cruyff had to go. Guardiola left. Now Abidal. Mes Que un Club? Can you explain our global image at the moment? Can you explain where our foundation stands at the moment?

I believe it was Rosell's decision but I think it had to be made. If there is no longer a spot for him on the team, then there isn't. He offered Abidal a job whenever he wants it when he retires.

I think Mathieu would a decent option off the bench behind Alba.
