But Bojan left while Pep was here. So did Oriol who left as a direct result of Pep signing Mascherano to replace Yaya. Fontas didnt get any playing time under Pep and then he got injured. Adriano, Alexis and Cesc were all players Pep wanted, so as Neymar who he even tried to sign at Bayern. The board did a lot of things wrong but a lot of these things listed have nothing to do with them .

Read my post afterwards. Where did I say everything is this board's fault? Obviously when a new president is elected an entire new era starts.

Today was a sad day for FCB and for a cule. We've lost someone who was a very important part of the best Barca we have ever seen, someone that couldn't be replaced yet on the pitch and it will be even harder to replace in the lockeroom. Thank you for everything Abi and I wish the best to you and your beautiful family.
PS: I have one request to RoSELL: please stop talking about 'valors' and 'mes que un club' and stop acting like these are more important for us than for the rest of the clubs. After what happend with Cruyff, Laporta, after your journalists started to write horrible things about Pep, after the way many canteranos and coaches from La Masia were treated, after Unicef-Qatar Foundation-Qatar Airways, Boixos and Abi I think it's safe to say that we stopped being 'mes que un club' and we are just 'un club mes'. And for me it's ok as long as the president of this club stops being a hypocrite and I don't have to hear stuff like: "FCB it's not a business, it's a feeling". Today we saw that this isn't true.

Wondering what exactly makes this club 'Mes Que un Club'? How sad! So Abi couldn't have been offered a year extension(he's 34 already and I don't see him playing beyond 35) with lowered wages? This is really sad. I hope the board would do Puyol the honour of allowing him retire here.

Thanks for all the memories Abi

He probably didn't want lowered wages.

Incredibly sad press conference. You can tell how much respect Abidal has for the Barca shirt.

Was it really Rosell's decision or were Tito and Zubi responsible?
The fact that in December ‘Bartomeu’ claimed that abidal will get his renewal as soon as he starts playing, And now apparently they backed away from this, Emphasize even more that this was a sporting decision coming from tito himself, Otherwise why would they contradict themselves.
Many rumors circled around months ago that tito wants a small squad next season, 22 players only, There is no place for abidal, If tito thought abi can keep up the performance required to be part of the squad, There is no reason why he wouldn't request to keep him.
