I know. But under pressure situations, one relies on his strengths. The impulse acts on the more familiar and the preferred. Had he gone for the 'better angle' but the less natural option for him, he'd 've most likely messed up. Besides, whilst striking it with his right could've created the better angle, with carvalho closing down to his right the chances of his shot being blocked cannot be ruled out.
