Erling Haaland

I very rarely get "force of nature" vibes from attackers. R9, Messi, CR7 so far from my viewing, and this guy is shaping up to be the 4th. If he goes Bayern, they might threaten RM's CL crown (not wins, but overall performances in the competition's history) in the next decade.

We should not give up. Offer as much as we could, do not let other teams get him without restructuring their wages.

I doubt it. Lewy is still arguably the best striker & hasn't showed any sign of decline.

Was he any good in general play tonight? I only heard what a couple of analysts said at half time and they said he wasn't great bar the easy enough finish

Winning is the priority and he scores goals from half chances.

Winning and winning with style only happens if you get extremely lucky. We shouldn't demand the latter when we don't even have the former.

actually yes he was. Could've picked up an assist that Dahoud(?) missed from close range, also he was actually the one that won the ball and initiated the counter before his tap in. I also think that Haalands goals take away the credit from his defensive work. The dude goes all the way back to his own box when Sevilla is attacking. Many worldclass players can take an example from him.

Lol...what was Haaland doing after he netted the penalty? Running to keeper to cheer and rub it in his face?

Haaland missed the first before it had to be retaken. Goalkeeper did the same to him first. Not sure why the ref didn't book the GK but decided to book Haaland.

Anyways the whole penalty sequence was weird. Haaland scored a great goal, bulldozering through the Sevilla defence and then scored from an awesome angle, only for the VAR to downgrade it to a penalty. It was really weird. The goal should have stood. The Sevilla defender bashed into Haaland but fell over himself, and the dumb referee interpreted it as a foul by Haaland. Made no sense at all.

From what I know now it wasn't for the foul. It was essentially downgraded to penalty, because the pen situation happened earlier and was not yet reviewed because the ball didn't went out till the goal. So they decided to roll everything back to the penalty incident 1-2mins earlier. I guess that's correct then by the rules, but it's honestly such a dumb way since the originally disadvantaged team should not be disadvantaged again.
