Erling Haaland

Clubs like Barca, Real, Bayern will always be attractive to top players. These are the giants of football and even if in a slump these clubs will rebuild and come back.

Barca Real and Bayern are the only clubs that can lure a player like Haaland. Currently Man City also has that status but without the fans and the history. Psg in the French league is not interesting and none of the Italian clubs are good enough these days.

Unlike PSG, Manchester City does have quite a long and storied history. The club was founded before Barca to put it in perspective. Obviously they do not have the same status or record of winning as other top clubs, but sine the UAE takeover they have been a major force for the better part of a decade and for many of the kids coming up now all they remember is City being an elite club.

Also Haaland does have a genuine connection to the club with his father having played there. Add a top team, playing in the top league, with a top manager, Aguero leaving and great financial might and you realize City are the strong favourites to land him.

You're welcome
Never saw his reaction to PSG imitating his meditation celebration until now. What a great reply lol. Recommend you guys to look it up.

:lol::lol: You're really outdoing yourself these days. Just because a club is old doesn't mean it has a storied history.

Agree with most here. He'll realistically choose between 4 clubs: Bayern, Barca, Madrid and City. That is, of course, if all clubs decide to bid for him.
In the end I think only two, max three, of those clubs will go all the way in a bidding war, narrowing the options for Haaland even further.

Would guess it is between City and Real.

City as best club to move to in biggest league and Real as he idolised Ronaldo, huge club and follows their players online etc so clearly has interest in them.

Dont see there being any chance moves to Barca and doubt club is even really in for him other than words from Laporta during election and keeping it going now.

Mino Raiola to The Athletic: “I don’t give a f*ck if I never do another player with Man Utd. I’m not in their hands. I’m independent. Guardiola? I’ve closed the book a long time ago. Everybody knows what I think of him personally; he can say what he thinks for me personally”. - @FabrizioRomano

Ohhhh shit.

He is just talking. If City put the money on the table Raiola will be sending Pep A Christmas card.

Don't see Bayern as a serious candidate for him as long as they still have Lewa banging goals for fun. But if Haaland stays at Dortmund for another season then maybe they'll let Lewa go and bring him. Would hate to see that tbh. You can't be so "lucky" to replace arguably the best striker of his generation with very likely the best striker of the next generation and getting both of them from what's supposed to be your main rival. Well, at least they wouldn't get Haaland for free.

Luckily I have a sub for The Athletic so I can post the full quote which Romano likely intentionally left out:

“As for Mr Guardiola, I’ve closed the book already a long time ago. Everybody knows what I think of him personally and he can say what he thinks for me personally. For the rest, I think he’s a great trainer. And that’s how it is. I will not shut up for anybody. I’ll give my opinion, I think that it is my right.”

So he is maintaining his long position about him?

Pep Guardiola, the coach, is fantastic. As a person he's an absolute zero. He's a coward, a dog.

Yes.

Romano is making it sound like Raiola won't work with Man City due to Pep, but Raiola's all about business and respects Pep the manager, but has issues with him personally.

Won't let that affect business obviously.

Raiola is flexing.

Knows he is in position of power with Haaland and just telling United/Pep what still thinks of them and they have to come to him for the player.

Depends on Pep, not him.
As an agent it is a malpractice if he let his personal vendetta (which is clearly there) interfere with his clients best interests.

OTOH coaches and players has big egos, and it is part of their job actually.
Up to Pep to suck it up, so far he didn't but Raiola never had someone like Haland before
