Erling Haaland

It is not like his clause will expire next year, if he does wait a year, Real Madrid or anybody else can still trigger the clause right?

We are trying to get Messi back? Hahaha, that's a joke.

I think the clause is only for this summer.

I hope we don't get Messi back. (As much as I love Messi.)

It would be one step forward and three back.

Unless it's after World Cup for the memories (farewell tour). 6months.

Haaland's contract with Nike ended on January 1st, 2022, as of right now Adidas are a big candidate to partner with Haaland. This could be a potential threat to signing Haaland as Barcelona currently wears Nike kits.

Messi has a lifetime-contract with Adidas and is Barca's greatest player ever who was sponsored by Nike all his career. CR7 is Nike testimonial and played in Madrid in an Adidas kit for yours, so?

Apparently this clause exists only for coming summer, but BVB would be willing to extend it to summer 2023 just for him to stay a year longer.

To be honest, If I was Haaland and I knew Pep would stay with City for couple more seasons, City would be very attractive option. They have the best team in the world without striker. Perfect spot.

Me too, but the only consistent report is that he prefers Spain so based on that i'm speculating that order. Plus City signed Alvarez and Pep is perfectly happy playing no strikers too.

The real question is, given the condition club has that 75M for Haaland's buyout: Would you rather invest that money in a CB, Busi-replacement or a CF/Haaland.

All 3 are key positions but which would actually lift the club to the next level?

In Liverpool's case it was clear. They had a great forward line and their midfield was decent enough. What they've lacked was a GK and a quality CB and VVD lifted them to the next level.

Elite CB, elite DM or Haaland? In Barca's case, I would go for Haaland. Messi is gone, Suarez is gone, Griezmann is gone. The first two were a guarantee for goals and assists. Every fucking season. Only one that will come close to Griezmann numbers is Memphis and he is taking penalties and no one was satisfied with the Frenchmans output. Haaland, injuries excluded, is a guarantee to at least come close to Suarez' numbers. Looking at Barca's results: Would a player who is averaging a goal/game (Haaland is above that rate, assists not even mentioned, but let's keep it simple and say Bundesliga is "weaker" than La Liga) make a significant difference? I'd say yes.

Not neglecting that an elite CB for 75M would change Barca's backline for the better or a DM for 75M instead of Busi, but I'd say we can improve in that department without spending that much. We can replace Busi internally without "losing" much and there are some quality CBs available for free that would be an improvement over current options.

Other than that we'll have to wait how winter reinforcements will do. Auba might be an upgrade and could prove to be a reliable scorer. Ferran is not dominant, but contributes to a better output.

Before starting, I think we are assuming presence of funds for transfers.

My question regarding this, is who are the elite CB and DM who will cost 75M+?
For me, I see 3 "as good as it gets" DM replacement of Busquets.
First one is Brozovic, Caqueret & Tonali
The Croatian is free agent, and surely won't cost as much, Caqueret has one more season left and after seeing Bruno leaves for 40M, I think a 20M offer should get him (probably less). Caqueret is my favourite option and talked a lot about him in his thread.
Tonali is the one I might think about for this money, perfect Busi replacement IMO in both offense and defense, tailor made for our style of past decade and is young. But he is a loyal milanista who is unlikely tp push out.
Is the difference on ball between Tonali and Caqueret worth the money? Is the difference in age with Brozovic worth it? Maybe, but I don't see it.
There are other names as well, as Camara from Salzburg but again he won't cost that much.

CB has some big names like Kounde and De Ligt, but I am not sure both were transform our defense tbh. Martinez seems like cheap good fit options.
De Ligt lack of speed and Kounde lack of height are both issues for a super expensive CB.

The position I would actually try to splash 70M if someone is available is Fullback, if someone like Theo could be pursued I would do it, a dream would be TAA even if he smashes record for most expensive defender, but this is just me daydreaming.
I think atm a fullback who isn't exposed on the defense (ala Alves currently) and threat on the offense change the dynamics of the team way too much and allow for such great tactical flexibility, and it is more rare than a good CB or DM.

I see the gap between a Theo and Gaya are more worth it than one between Kounde and Lisandro Martinez.
Obviously, Milan might not be interested in selling especially after just renewing him.

Translations of 1, 2, 4 and 5 are fine. The 3rd one is totally wrong as you already assumed. It says (analogously):
In his dream destination Spain there is another option in form of Barca, but their finances are bad. Also, the club is rather working to get Messi back in order to calm the tense relationship with disappointed fans.

ad 5) Last paragraph: It would be both in Madrid's and BVB's interest if Haaland would agree to stay another year and Dortmund would be willing to let him go for the buyout in 2023. Erling only has to agree to that.

OK,
there is no contradiction then.
His preferred destination is Real Madrid

Good to know

Theo Hernandez just renewed with Milan with a wage we couldn't afford (and that was the reason we pulled out -according to some leaks from a few days ago- despite XAvi having him no1 in his list of LBs)

As for the rest, the gap between Lisandro Martinez and Christensen is huge IMO, Christensen is no better than Eric Garcia
Substantial is also the gap between Gaya and Grimaldo or below
Antony vs no winger to replace Dembele is also a huge quality gap in our squad.

All of the above are conditioned on Haaland.
I wish the rumor that RM is his preferred destination is true.
I would rather have quality transfers and well-rounded squad, rather than cheap below par free agents and a superstar whose fit into Barca way of playing is more than questionable

If Erling Haaland signs a deal with Adidas, he will go to Real Madrid rather than Barcelona or PSG. Adidas will help cover the finances for the transfer
