Erling Haaland

Real Madrid informed Haaland that they would not be able to sign him in the summer. Real Madrid's financial resources are not unlimited, and the club does not seem to be able to sign two stars at once in one transfer window. The transfer of Kylian Mbappe to the Madrid club is already considered by some to be a fact, because the player himself has repeatedly spoken about the desire to play for the "creamy". But Erling Haaland is also in Real Madrid's field of interest. There is information that the Madrid club has already informed Haaland that they will not be able to sign him in the summer. In the ?creamy? camp, they want the Norwegian footballer to spend another year at Borussia, and only then move to them. Ruhr Nachrichten writes about this.
Real Madrid is good at PR, every year it is rumored that stars go to them, but in reality Jovic and Hazard. Mbappe is also not a fact, Leonardo said that the negotiations are going well.

Well, every star back then was a tier below Messi and CR7. Hazard was very great for Chelsea and no one really expected his downfall. Jovic was a one hit wonder and a gamble on talent, not a star.

Mbappe makes much more sense for Madrid now. And I can imagine that Madrid suggests Haaland to stay for another year in Dortmund and to move in for him in 2023.
Madrid has the same issue as Bayern does currently. Lewandowski and Benzema are still too good to ditch and Haaland can't coexist with one of these two. That's an issue Barca doesn't have to solve as there is currently no #9 cemented.

Isak is nowhere near good enough and has 3 goals from open play this season in La Liga.

Better off with Torres CF than him and save money for other parts of team if missing out on Haaland.

Anthony is a big risk too for the money most likely. We have enough potential players. Pedri, Gavi, Nico, Ansu, Ferran, Araujo, Dest, Garcia.

I'd prefer established top players in 23-26 years old range or special talents like Haaland who have big numbers already.

Muscular, muscular, muscular. Yea, buy him for 250 mln (value + salary + comission for agent + dog + father + sisters + brothers).

He has a big body. At the same time, his style of play involves a large count of sharp accelerations. That's why his muscles can't handle it = big body + lots of sharp accelerations.
If he doesn't change his playing style and become more static player like Ibrahimovic, then his injury rate will only increase with age.

Do we need a Haaland with a static playstyle? No.

The real question is, given the condition club has that 75M for Haaland's buyout: Would you rather invest that money in a CB, Busi-replacement or a CF/Haaland.

All 3 are key positions but which would actually lift the club to the next level?

In Liverpool's case it was clear. They had a great forward line and their midfield was decent enough. What they've lacked was a GK and a quality CB and VVD lifted them to the next level.

Elite CB, elite DM or Haaland? In Barca's case, I would go for Haaland. Messi is gone, Suarez is gone, Griezmann is gone. The first two were a guarantee for goals and assists. Every fucking season. Only one that will come close to Griezmann numbers is Memphis and he is taking penalties and no one was satisfied with the Frenchmans output. Haaland, injuries excluded, is a guarantee to at least come close to Suarez' numbers. Looking at Barca's results: Would a player who is averaging a goal/game (Haaland is above that rate, assists not even mentioned, but let's keep it simple and say Bundesliga is "weaker" than La Liga) make a significant difference? I'd say yes.

Not neglecting that an elite CB for 75M would change Barca's backline for the better or a DM for 75M instead of Busi, but I'd say we can improve in that department without spending that much. We can replace Busi internally without "losing" much and there are some quality CBs available for free that would be an improvement over current options.

Other than that we'll have to wait how winter reinforcements will do. Auba might be an upgrade and could prove to be a reliable scorer. Ferran is not dominant, but contributes to a better output.

Interesting view. I agree that his current injury issues are a bit worrying and it is a risk to spend big on him.

Let's be honest - Fati finished.

But even when he was healthy, he wasn't the type to become an elite winger.
He is dangerous directly in the opponent's penalty area.

First of all, we need elite wingers both on the left flank and on the right.

Then we need a left back, a right back, and replacement for Busquets.
We also need a left central defender if Mika from Barca B is not so good.

Besides, we have problems with Ter Stegen. The problem is not even that he has been terrible for 2.5 years. After all, all players have a bad season. The problem is why is it bad? The problem is his knee injury. According to what I have learned about this injury, now this injury will always haunt him. And the German will never return to his best level.

Nike will make us go after Haaland.
One day, we're behind the Nike guy, guided by marketing interests, and we know how it ended? This guy's name was Coutinho.

How do I know that Barcelona was guided primarily by marketing goals?

There is one analyst in our country, he has his own blog. After Coutinho moved to Barcelona, he wrote a large study where he argued that Phillip was not suitable for Barcelona and this transfer would be a failure.

Then he began to work for one big club from our country. He participated in conferences in Barcelona where he interacted with Barcelona analysts.

In general, he was impressed by the analytical department of Barcelona - the level of personnel, technology.

So he asked one of Barcelona's top analysts why they missed the deal with Coutinho, because it's obvious that he doesn't suit your team.

The Barcelona analyst replied that there are many transfers that you cannot influence at all. They were against this transfer and did not recommend it.

///
But Coutinho came to Barcelona. Why? Neymar, who is associated with Nike, has left. The team did not have a star player from the Nike team. And Nike is our sponsor. That is why Barcelona bought Coutinho. They simply spit on the opinion of the analytical department.

The same story will repeat itself now. Based on marketing interests, we will buy Haaland.

I'd like to see us go after a great RW like Antony or Raphinha as the proper Dembele replacement, if Haaland doesn't work out. And just commit to Ferran as a CF. In a perfect world we'd go for both and put Ferran on LW full time, since we might won't be able to count on Ansu as a bonafide starter, if he doesn't get his injury record in order. Would be a real shame, but it is what it is, gotta start planning in that direction, if we can afford it.

I mean just look at City and now Liverpool's depth in that forward area, Mane/Diaz, Firmino/Jota and Salah, ridiculous. Same at City with Sterling/Grealish, Foden/Jesus, Mahrez.

Pretty much confirms my point in our last RM discussion with Wolfe and Morten, that RM can't afford both or at least can't afford 'easily' both.

Ruhr Nachrichten also reports Haaland wants RM
