Bale is perhaps good to demonstrate how dudes who aren't gods of technique can still be effective, but limitations won't necessarily make them any worse for a team playing a certain style. If Bale was fit for at least 30 games a season and didn't sulk 50% of the time when fit, he'd tear this league apart just because he's an athletic freak. He's literally only where he's at right now because of those two reasons and still has over 100 goals in RM shirt.
I find it odd how people automatically find reasons to downplay players who don't have it all and somehow now we're going to wind up talking about Haaland as this plank of wood who runs fast and can do tap-ins but little else. Or if not now then some time in the future. It's silly. Players like Haaland, or Drogba who I think he might be more alike down the line, are immensely valuable and not for their raw skill, but because they're clutch and more often than not, quite ambitious. I'd take Haaland and an entirely different forward as a bench option to give team some flexibility rather than look for guys who absolutely must be able to make every touch perfect and never misplace a pass. But what do I know.
