I'm totally fed up with mediocre coach. We've almost the best squad but our board just refuse to hire the best coach.

Do I complain? Maybe. I'd like to think I observe what is the course of action taken by the institution, whether it's for or against my idea of what a team should do or be. That's not what happens here. Here the idea of how a team performs is somehow born strictly from the middle man between the institution and football - a man who is usually the first to be ousted if he loses his stock in the club.

Point is, who are you really complaining about? That's the question people really aren't consistent on with their answers.

Pretty sure "this man" has been observed for nearly 2 seasons and have been given reasons why he has failed to improve in the most basic ways possible.

But for some reasons this man has been given a pass and has his major flaws overlooked by the team's individual brilliances. Yet players are first to be jumped according to you, they are terribly "flawed". Even the 480M signings spent by Barcelona in 2 seasons is somehow a failed scheme. I have also addressed problems with the board and their signings but the likes of Arthur, Coutinho, Malcom, Dembele are miles better than those of Gomes, Turan etc. Then you got to think what terribly went wrong and this isnt something "off the top the head" after a single match. It's been weeks after weeks, even a reminiscence of what happened in Rome. The fact that this guy still makes the same mistakes.

And you think the few results will paper over the massive cracks like last season? In the end what happened? A ticking time bomb that will self destruct at late season and people wonder why. Pretty sure the club wants to make a mark in the CL this season themselves so it's not "something the fans want"; our record were simply terrible past 3 seasons. Even if the players managed to show "passion", "leadership" the coach himself isnt making it better for the team to preserve the energy and maximising the squad's potential. Something that Zidane did. That's also something the players themselves cannot control. Squad is underused and underutilised, poor rotations, I dont think these cant be justified no matter how u try to push it to the players.

Point is, I doubt this is as simple as "complaining" any more. Players were blamed the last season as well so dont act like only one man is jumped. But if this man himself havent shown a slight bit of improvement himself, there's no way he can shirk responsibility. Ironically, u keep complaining that "Barca fans" are complaining so who's complaining really? What makes u think these opinions are something that formed overnight. It's there for everyone to see every week. It's not that hard.

The league race is still on and there's no telling what will happen again the next few weeks. Let's see how "results" will still help him.

Ernesto Valverde: 'We lacked an offensive spark'

ofcourse we did you idiot. he saw that at 80min when ATM scored.

Press would rather spend the time vilifying certain players and beg the club for certain signings along with trying to convince people that Neymar coming back wouldn't be a bad idea at all despite how he left and threw the club under the bus with his lawsuit wanting his loyalty bonus.

Valverde is basically getting a free pass by the Catalan press for his bullshit.

This!!

Does anyone remember how Tata was treated? We won 4-0 but had less possession and the press went nuts. You would have thought Tata was a serial killer the way the press went on. Even Xavi got in the act.
After that Tata lost his confidence and the plot. However Valverde produces a shit show in all fronts and keeps getting a pass from the press. Definitely an agenda here.

It's pretty obvious this season is going to end in tears. It's inevitable we have another implosion in a big match this season. Sadly it's only a matter of time before a Roma 2.0 pummeling happens.

Its so funny how there isn't even a slightest chance he will be sacked, board only are looking at the results, nothing else matters.

I forced myself to believe there is even a remote chance he'll get sacked if Barca lost to ATM up to the 90th minute of the match but I couldn't, he could've lost 3-0 and still be in the office the next day.

I don't understand the idea behind Valverde 442. Playing with 4 defensive midfilders and one forward is one of the most idiotic tactic I have ever seen. It just makes no sense

We could win the La Liga, but that itself shouldn't be used as a reason to keep Valverde around after this is all said and done.

You have to look at what he brought to the table in a couple of seasons he's been here such as a system, development of players, and the quality of Football, and something that he could leave the next coach to build upon.

And what we have seen, yeah there's nothing that he has shown me that he should deserve another season here regardless if we won the League. His system and quality of football have been negative and his development of players has been subpar.

He sees player development as a "Chore" like he won't really do much unless he's absolutely forced to. He didn't play Lenglet much, despite Pique's dreadful form at the start of the season and only started playing him when Umtiti got injured. Arthur became a starter after his great performance vs the Spurs, and Valverde realized he cannot be dropped. Before then he bascially got garbage minutes off the bench. Don't even need to go in about the Malcom situation either.

The only thing he will leave behind is a squad that has some aging players but also a number of younger players who haven't been utilized very well but overall a team that you feel should have been much better than what we have seen on the field.

Valverde doesn't catch flak like Tata does because a) he's not a foreigner and b) there's a consensus among the media that possession based football for the lack of a better word is dead. Otherwise, the style of play he promotes wouldn't fly here for a second.

Having said that, I don't think that Valverde is a bad coach at all. The problem I have with the guy is that his playstyle is fitting for a second or third tier team, but not for Barca. Having to watch a team that is loaded from top to bottom with top class players (forget the form for a moment) play hoofball and having no discernible movement patterns up front other than what is created from individual creativity is a chore and frankly, it's embarrasing.
