I really like the 4-2-3-1. I think it is the only option to have the desperately needed full width in attack while Messi being the center of all actions. We always scored playing like that and are bad on counters in every formation. Unfortunately Valverde only uses it, when we are down by a goal, because he - maybe rightfully - fears that we are a bit more vulnerable on counters. But I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Remove Messi from the lineup and the score would not have been so favorable.
I am actually disappointed in this result, for it reflects positively on this worthless coach who is anti football and plays a boring and defensive minded game. I really want us to lose a few games so that Malmierda gets ousted.
We should be bringing Klopp in for the 2019/2020 campaign.

There is no point in having an all star team with some of the most talented players in the world as long as we have a mediocre coach.
Unfortunately Messi's brilliance reflects positively on the coach and only justifies the board's decision to extend a coach who is incapable of bringing leadership and attractive football to Barcelona.

Only way he will come to barca is if board kidnaps him, and keep him from running away. Are you seriously thinking barca have chance to bring him? I dont understand fans spending their time on forum having unrealistic expectations, like klopp at barca, mbappe also, lets be realistic here, why would barca, or this board suddendly give job to coach that has nothing to do with barca, barca DNA is all (reason why ernie is here) even if he is actually far far away from football barca football philosophy, its just showing you that board doesnt care about that, he is ex barca player, was decent coach at bilbao, enough to give him to handle one of the most expensive team in football world, then go back and look who was appointed before him, lucho, tata (what a suprise that was, no barca DNA and no expirience in european football) , tito, pep (they hit the jackpot with him), rijkaard, look at their succes and before they took barca, just pure mediocre coaches. So if you are a barca fan, forget about some proven coach on top level name, instead follow on twitter or instagram laurent blanc these days, who could be next pick for this board.
Edit:and let me be clear, i dont think at all that is depressing, thats just barca through history, thats why they are different from other top clubs and special, i assume that atracted large number of fans to follow this club, why change something now, hope for the best and that barca will hit jackpot again like with pep, until enjoy barca picking la liga and copa del rey, because messi, when he retires la liga will be more competitive and we will appriciate these times alot more then now. About CL, i expect 1 trophy in range of 5 years, we should not compare real recent success with barca and their cl campaign, barca cant play ugly and win that trophy, everything has to fit in place and barca destroys on all three fronts, that isnt often, and cant be, but when it happends its more beautiful then madrid's defending that trophy, thats just barca way
