Finally his luck has ran out. Atletico from 2 down to win the game, real drawing in dying minutes.
Just get him out already

Hip hip hooray.

The sooner we get rid of this idiot the better.

My only fear is the board replacing him with someone even worse. Eg Jordi Roura

I don't think we'll lose to Valencia but Dortmund away is fucking dicey. Anyway, Valverde would have to be midtable at xmas for his job to be in danger

Right now, when I see how they play, and how we play, I could totally see Dortmund easily smash us 4-0 or something like that, at least at home...Paco to score at least once is pretty much a certainty too. But even that I believe wouldn't be enough. The only two things that can get him fired are: the one before the summer are us getting eliminated in the group stage, and honestly, I'd take that right now. At least something good would come out of it. Better than to wait for an another inevitable knockout round heart break elimination later on, which we all know is coming anyway. So why not end it early, get the fucker out asap and start planning a new. Especially if i'd known we would be replacing him with a competent manager, but with this Board that is far from guaranteed. While not winning La Liga, which would probably mean a trophyless season (unless EV will get a hard on on Copa again, which is actually quite likely, especially if we fall behind in the league by like 10 points before January, knowing he can't win CL, he'll do anything to at least win something and hope it's enough to make us keep him) is the other thing, but obviously that would only come after the season.

I don’t rate Valverde, but it’s amusing the way people just jump from one scapegoat to another.

Sometimes, it’s been Rakitic, sometimes Busquets, sometimes Suarez, sometimes the formation, sometimes even Messi and his movement, now it’s all Valverde.

In the final 16 months under Luis Enrique, we were just as dependent on individual quality as we are now. People here always accuse Valverde of ruining players, yet I don’t think there’s any player who was here before Valverde that got worse once he took over apart from some having physical decline due to age. Actually, players like Alba, Pique, Rakitic, Iniesta, Umtiti and Busquets all looked better in 17/18 under Valverde than they did in 16/17.

Point is: we have an average manager, but also a squad that is massively overrated and lacking in athleticism. Replacing Valverde with a world class manager like Pep would help a lot, but just sacking him to replace him with another average manager who is available might help a little but probably not that much. Of course, then people will just go back to singling out Rakitic or Suarez or Messi even after how great we’ve been without them so far this season.

Valverde was always a problem. Far ahead of any individual underperforming player, so the comparison isn't very good. The only one who are even higher on the list are Bartomeu and his board for 1. building the squad this way and 2. hiring and keeping Valverde.

Lucho also wasn't an outstanding coach. Valverde is far from being a scapegoat, he is a big part of the problem. Clinging to his shitty looking boring football just for the sake of it because there is no Pep available can't be the answer.

The coach isn't average,he is plain bad.Maybe you could argue he was average/decent in 17/18,but since then it's getting worse and worse.

First of all,he has no charisma and it is clear that he has no real control of the locker room. That means that he can never inspire the players to get better or to try more.

Secondly, his fixation with certain players is extremely frustrating.Playing an underperforming, old and fat Suarez every single match and never trying something new.Maybe a potential new experiment on attack wouldn't turn out to be effective, but at least give Luis a rest.Of course,I HAVE to mention Rakitic, who in most games was either average or extremely bad,BUT he never got benched. There are more examples like Busquets.

Finally, the tactics themselves are the worst tactics I've seen from any Barca coach the last 15 years, except for the last few months under Tata Martino.

-Arthur was one of the best players last year and despite outperforming every single midfielder on the squad and despite being the only guy that was actually trying to push the ball forward and that could beat the opponents' pressure (*cough* Rakitic *cough*),Valverde decided to bench him towards the end of the season. And right now,he still seems to favor Roberto or Rakitic or Vidal over him.
-He is already playing FDJ out of position.Instead of playing him as a CDM or as a box-to-box midfielder,he is playing him as a left winger(!!!!!!!!).Simply unbelievable! And I bet that the only reason that he is giving him a starting position is because FDJ is a big signing.
-So instead of having a midfield of Arthur-Busi-FDJ,or Arthur-FDJ-Vidal or even Arthur-FDJ-Roberto we will have the "pleasure" to watch a hybrid midfield of FDJ as a LM,Busi/Raki as a CDM,Roberto/Vidal as a CM and Athur on the bench.
-Furthermore,instead of giving the keys of the build-up play to FDJ and Arthur, Valverde's chosen one is Jordi Alba.Alba is a great LB,don't get me wrong.but he shouldn't be the team's second creator after Messi!

If I could make the decisions,I would do the following:

-Bench Suarez and give him minutes against the weaker La Liga teams.Have him as a sub against good teams and in the CL.
-Play Leo as a false 9 and have Dembele as a RW.Griezmann would be a hybrid LW/striker(when he moves centrally,Alba would make a run as a LW)
-Play BOTH Arthur and FDJ at the midfield along with Raki/Busi/Roberto/Vidal.BUT they would play as centrally as possible,so that they can work with each other and with Messi, instead of being the full backs' merchants.

Seriously guys, if we get rid of him, then who are the options? I like Ten Haag but the fact that he can’t speak Spanish is a problem. Same with Nagelsmaan. These two are my favorites. But then who? If the options are the likes of Koeman or Martinez I rather keep Valverde to be honest.

Everything considered my favorite pick would be Lopetegui, great coach despite his spell at Real, plays amazing jdp football.

At this point I'd even take Mikel Arteta...
