No, not remotely on the same level, Carvajal has always been a solid right back going forward.

I know you think Trent is Gods gift to mankind, but few shares that opinion, talented player, who has a major deficiency at one end of the pitch, Carvajal was, and is to an extent still, a complete fullback.

Most important player for Spain from a fitness prospective is morata, they literally have nothing on the bench to even come close to replacing him.

Should rest the entire Starting XI if they can for the next game

Germany played against 10 Scots who surrendered and Hungary, who had some decent chances to score. Spain played more dominantly against far stronger opponents. Croatia and Italy >>>>> Scotland and Hungary

Spain looking good apart of the obvious.
Also, as soon as Pedri & Yamal subbed off they seemed to loose control, even though neither had great match. Figures.

True but they are still better. Nagelsmann is the best manager in the tournament.


They have better individuals.


Musiala, Wirtz, Kroos, Gundogan in and around the midfield will dominate every opponent.


Who do Spain have with that kind of ability? Only Yamal and Rodri.


Germany also have better CBs, GK and bench options. Be real mate.

Having 2 very direct wingers in Nico and Yamal does wonders for midfielders, Pedri and Ruiz. As soon as Yamal was replaced by less direct Torres, everything shifted.

The difference between the front quartet and the backup quartet for Spain is immense. Maybe you can scratch Pedri from that as he is a 60 minute player over these 2 games and Baena/Olmo/Fermin isn't the huge downgrade that Nico to Ayoze and Lamine to Ferran is. Though both had good actions coming on.

I'm watching the way DLF has the team set up and especially Morata though and I'm wondering, should he have brought Samu Omorodion as the backup? He will give you the closest match and would be an absolute terror against tired defences.

Pedri is as good as Musiala or Wirtz.

Yea pretty much agree with everything here, someone like samu would have been a close to like for like sub for morata who they have no one on the bench that's a capable replacement.

Not to mention he might also be having a stinker and you'll have no one to replace him, at least samu could through his body around.

the coach is doing a lot right, including watching the front 4 minutes, because he sees what we all see, but a different striking option would have been good.
