Xavi is not suitable there. Those who play on the left and right in a 3-5-2 should be closer to wingback type players. Like Licht and Asamoah at Juve. Alba could work though, and a prime Alves probably could have done well in that role.

Regardless, I can't see Conte really having success at Barca. Maybe in the league, as with Juve, but he still has a lot to learn in terms of adapting to football on the big stage. 3-5-2 (along with its more defensive cousin, 5-3-2) is a stubborn approach from him that good teams outside of Italy can easily deal with.
