Unlike some on this forum, I accept my Ls when they happen.

W for [MENTION=15262]serghei[/MENTION] from our discussion this morning. UEFA (somehow, someway) has more power than even 12 big clubs.

Regardless, the format of the CL needs some serious revamping or we will find similar frustration/breakways in some years. Or a shift towards EPL as the single dominant league.

The power of UEFA is nowhere near the top of the list of why this failed.

It is reaction of fans.

Barca and Real Madrid need to take charge of La Liga's tv rights too.

La Liga rejected a big offer from Sky to go for an even bigger offer from Eleven Sports or some shit that went bankrupt a few months later. Now it's on some obscure channel in the UK few people know about it seems.

Anyway, it's good that the biggest emotion that remains is the hilariousness of it.

Government Backedlash. I find it deplorable personally. And just goes to show what Floro was trying to stand against in Uefa (can't believe I'm in defence of this man).

Alot will gloat over this, but trying to get power and centralisation out of Uefa/Fifa hands is a good thing. Whether placing it in Perez hands or the Glazers is another question.

Dude when these clubs financials start leaking it's going to be implosion left and right. This current model of unlimited funds from oil states and unlimited wages for players just isn't sustainable and without a legitimate increase in revenue things are going to go bad.

One thing I will say Florentino did well enough to set Madrid up with the multi-use stadium. Before I was against it but now seeing how club's will need to find other methods for generating revenue we will need that and even more.

Sky were not offering much for La Liga either though.

Ship has sailed a bit on that here in UK as well. Barely know anyone that has any interest in La Liga when 10 years ago most would watch it on a Saturday/Sunday night after EPL games.

All about EPL even more so than in past.
