No they would have been late to the party, but would probably still recieve the founder status when they eventually joined. PSG has an agenda WC 2022, a CL to win, and their channel BeIn. They won't ruin their current money maker just yet.

my take is that he is biding his time. they've splashed the money on CL TV rights and he might want to see what happens. but in the end he will be in the ESL like fleas on a dog's back.

If was marketed as a more fair CL replacement the backlash would have been minimal. I think the fact is UEFA/FIFA gained the narrative as well as Gary Neville for going viral. If none of that happened it would have been less of a thing then it is now. Perez was an idiot flaunting yesterday too.

In hindsight, a project to establish higher income's to the top sides of Portugal, Spain, Italy, France may have worked better, while still competing in the CL and local leagues. The justification that the collective power is needed to combat the PremierLeague running away.
