European Super League

Imo, Laporta is doing the right thing. Put yourself in his position. With leaving the decision to the socios, he is doing what a fan-owned club should do. On top of that, he is buying time the club desperately needs.

Audit is still not finished. Only after that they'll have the full picture of the financial situation. Then they should and will present the results to the socios. There will be different ways out of that mess. Some of them will mean that the club will face some dire years. That short-term debt is no joke, even if they manage to renegotiate the loans.

We will all agree that pulling out from that Super League is the right thing to do, from an ethical point of view. The reported sums of the super league would help the club to relax the monetary situation though. In the end it will be a hard decision and socios should decide which way they want the club to go.

If we have already received those 350m we'll have to return them if the league won't be played (as it seems now) but we won't have to pay any penalty because it's not actually our fault the league has collapsed.

That's my guess at least but could be wrong.

Hopefully. Thought they also meant Barca would pay no penalties if socios opted to leave. If true, we have time to see how this pans out and choose the obvious option.

my take is that he is biding his time. they've splashed the money on CL TV rights and he might want to see what happens. but in the end he will be in the ESL like fleas on a dog's back.

neymar doesn't even like to play against farmers or CL groups bums.

Yeah. This is why i said being among the "12 betrayers", i.e the first vocal group of betrayers.

If PSG was among them, i can tell you FFF, LFP would have already called and worked on us being thrown out of French League. And what about the media ?!! It would have been evil Qatar killing football and what not. It is way too dangerous for PSG.

If the ship was sailing steadily, yeah, they could have joined later on.

For once, Nasser played his cards beautifully. Notice that the club didn't make any official statement (not antagonizing the ESL) but, given only PSG and Bayern attended the ECA reunion for the UEFA CL, Nasser and his minion from Bayern he bought with some cheap Qatar Airport/Airways money are the new godfathers.

Yes and agreed, however what they should not have done was to allow our name to be mentioned as one of the 12, and furthermore we should not have released that announcement yesterday that we are a founding club before this goes through a vote.

Not sure if we will be offering electronic voting for this, if they do I know what I will vote for.

Can super league go ahead with no english team?

We could have 1 El Classico and 1 El Matador ( Juve vs Real or Barcelona)

If they have the German teams and PSG joining, they could probably still do it without the English teams or with just a few English teams. Not if all the English teams pull out and no new clubs replacing them.

Yes, but not in replacement of the CL.

For example top 4 of Italy, Spain and top 2 of Portugal, France two the groups of 6 (then Semi+Final) initiating when the Champions League finishes the group stage. There is a nice litte gap there.

I doubt JP Morgan would give the same level of funding without the English sides though.

Pretty shocking that we're one of the last few to pull out (we still haven't). Regardless of how you spin it, it isn't a good look for Laporta.

It's honestly embarrassing. They were talking about banning them yesterday and now they're so happy they're back in it. No doubt they're getting secret bribes from the Man City lot.

Nope.

They made all the threats publicly and in private but now that they are back, they welcome them with an hug as a proud father. The father shows mercy as he knows his son aknowledged his sins. This will help other ESL club backtracking.

UEFA doesn't need to sanction them (bar maybe the very vocal one: RM and his president): ESL clubs walked off arrogantly, and went back with shame not even 48 hours after. It is a great show of power for UEFA and a big warning for anyone trying to pull out a coup like that in the future.

Only the English clubs pulled out so far...

I think we will follow tomorrow along with Atleti.
