"My opinion didn't change. I heard for the first time about it yesterday... We were not involved in this process, the players or me."

"I understand (the fans anger). I don't know exactly why the 12 clubs did it.

"It's always 'more games, more games'. It's about more money, nothing else."

"The one thing I cannot understand is the competitiveness. I don't like it if we are not in the Champions League, but if we earn it that is right."

Thats pretty much as upfront as he could possibly be, while being an employee there and trying to be diplomatic about it.

Probably, it will be a long line of lawsuits in each direction, and i dont reckon it will be solved quickly.

I feel like the clubs are more likely to buckle than UEFA, especially when they realise how many groups will be mobilised to stop them - including their own fans en masse.

Are we really expected to believe the managers/players didn't know about this behind the scenes? I'd like to believe it but surely those behind this project wouldn't just announce something this big without reassuring the managers and players of the legality, contracts etc

I have been thinking about the bans threatened by FIFA, UEFA and all the national leagues. If they do follow through with the bans, won?t these leagues and FAs be facing lawsuits from rights holders, broadcasters and media companies for the respective packages/deals they have signed with these leagues? They would want to get their money back if these 12 teams are not playing in the domestic leagues, Euro and the World Cup. One possibility would be these leagues going after the 12 clubs for compensations but what if they refuse to pay on the ground of ?We want to play, it is you who banned us??

Nope, considering the reaction from the media outlets like Bein and Sky etc, I would say those themselves are afraid from the long term outcome.
Whoever doesn't get the TV rights of the SL will be sidelined. And many expect the TV rights will be sort of a platform sooner or later rather than a classic channels.
It is most likely media best interest to take the hit now rather than later.
I think PSG refusing to participate (for the time being) is a clear indicator of that.

Doubt it. Some manager might have been informed, but regardless would probably not have any say in it. You'd think they have assured this with everyone but the immediate backlash from players, FAs and even governments suggests that Perez and co. probably only spoke to some lawyers about some legal and licensing stuff, and did not expect all of it to amount to WW3. After all nn their heads this sounded like a great idea, so I guess they naturally assumed that most other people will see also it the same way.

🔸Bar?a isn't obliged to have members vote for participation in #SuperLeague to be approved.

🔹However, if 3% member signatures are collected or 10% of delegates request it, it'll be voted in general assembly.

There you go mate. If anyone here hating this is a socio, and of course noone is, then go out and collect signatures.

They bought the World Cup. He is returning favour. Can always join in like a snake if he sees it's a success.

About guys who ask: why Arsenal?

Well, these big clubs wanted to create a Super league in early 2000s.
Back then EPL was a two horse race: Man Utd and Arsenal.

Back then, Uefa and big clubs made a compromise and Uefa allowed 4 (or even 5) clubs from big countries to participate in a CL at the expense of Eastern European league champions.
And the ideas of a SL have been paused due to a new CL format in 2000's.

Also, I have mentioned a few days ago how refereeing has always been rigged in favor of big clubs and rich countries.
Why?
1) if Barca/EPL teams reach finals = more casuals will watch it and Uefa will earn more money
2) on the other hand, Uefa needed to make big teams happy and allow them to earn more money snd forget about Super league

This is why for years, teams like Dinamos, Sparta, Slavia and other smallers teams are always cheated by refs in qualifying or KO marches vs EPL or Italian/Spanish teams.

The same happens on World cups where home teams are protected and where in overal, France/Germany will get a push, if needed, against Czech, Croatia or Cameroon.

I personally don't know what to say about a Superleague.
As a Barca fan, refs favored us and we wanted more money either way.
As a fan of Dinamo Zagreb and smaller teams, football was always rigged and dirty and filled with Uefa's mafia, so we are fucked either way.

Imo, Uefa is probably earning way more money but they are taking it for themselves.
Basically, it's like this:
Superleague is Mbappe.
If he wants to go to RM this year, Psg will take 120m. Psg is Uefa in this case.
Yet, if Mbappe will leave for free next year, he will get higher wages from RM since they'll spend 0 for a transfer fee.

Basically, Uefa is that bad former club who wants to earn a lot of money on you.

In general, I think that SL will happen eventually because money rules the world.

Thanks, I actually e-mailed our OAB (Member's Office) asking this question earlier today.

Real Madrid being at the epicenter of all this is just absolutely incredible. All the while in the midst of a CL campaign.

Perez ballin out of control.

Players need to be excluded from international tournaments as well.
That way no player will be thinking about joining the clubs.

Money in a SL will be way important than WC for 99% of players.

WC will be like hockey/basketball at Olympics in the past.
