European Super League

Nope, considering the reaction from the media outlets like Bein and Sky etc, I would say those themselves are afraid from the long term outcome.
Whoever doesn't get the TV rights of the SL will be sidelined. And many expect the TV rights will be sort of a platform sooner or later rather than a classic channels.
It is most likely media best interest to take the hit now rather than later.
I think PSG refusing to participate (for the time being) is a clear indicator of that.

I think you are confirming what I was saying. Yes the current right holders are rightfully panicking about the potential and possible ban of these 12 leagues from their respective leagues, and they probably want to get their hands on the ESL if it does go forward. They will be facing potentially great shortfall of money if advertisers start pulling out. They wouldn't be suing these 12 clubs as their TV deals were struck with the national leagues.

[Tenorio] The Super League clubs have decided to transfer their UCL trophies over to the Super League. Real Madrid will start with 13 Super League championships.

Guess who's the most succesful club in CL now. :pep:

Money in a SL will be way important than WC for 99% of players.

WC will be like hockey/basketball at Olympics in the past.

W for you on the superleague take.

On a serious, non-football note, are things looking up in other regards?

You can't have a team owner controlling the entire damn league. That's such a conflict of interest. What's stopping him from just accommodating RM every way he can in this league?

Domestic leagues need to be trimmed anyway.

Yeah, no offense to anyone, but in the last 15 years domestic leagues are a joke.

In every country, 1-2 superclubs emerged and are just statpadding trophies due to money.

Juve, Bayern, Psg with 10 straight titles.
That wasn't the case in 70s or 90s.

In Spain, people love La Liga due to Barca/Real rivalry.
Yet, in majority of other countries, domestic cups are dead and league competition are a predictable statpadding borefest and big teams are only waiting for European games.

He wont control the league.

This idea that Perez is the man in control and his league is nonsense.

Not that it will happen anyway.

La Liga would be better off being 10 team league that splits like SPL.

The standard after first 5/6 is woeful and no players/teams worth watching.

It looks like Florentino's ESL presidency is not permanent, he is the first one. That being said, that role will probably be going round robin and rotating between the 15 (or 12) founding clubs. There is no transparency at this point.

Leicester city winning Epl and Ajax cvl run eliminating Juve amd Madrid is gone with thos set up amd most likely what confirmed the idea.
The pure greed behind it is disgusting.
Same clubs over and over year in year out will get boring as well.

Well, Champions cup till 90s had only champions of all countries.
Then they allowed two clubs from a winner country.
And then they allowed 4-5 teams from Spain/EPL at the expense of champions from Romania, Croatia, Denmark.

And in the qualifying rounds, champions from smaller countries had to play vs 4th placed teams from EPL.

If you are a fan from Spain/England, CL is awesome.
If you are from Czech, Bosnia or Estonia, CL is a disgrace and all about money and licking asses to big teams.

I get you, SL is even bigger evil than a CL, but it is not as if a current CL was a holy place of sport and fair play either.

Not to mention refereeing.

Well then it should be fixed to lessen the problem in domestic leagues, the action shouldnt be to worsen the issue of disparity all over europe lmao
