Max Verstappen is BY FAR the best wet weather driver on the grid.

Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren shot themselves in the foot for pitting early. Red Bull made an educated guess that there will be:

a) Full wet tyre conditions, so they gain a pitstop on main contenders
b) A crash resulting in a safety car, so they get a free pitstop
c) Red flag due to weather, so they can change tires for free
d) Red flag due to an accident, so they can change tires for free

and got 2 of the above, which resulted in them jumping Leclerc, Russell and Norris. Even with SC, they gambled and got the red flag they wanted. Max only needed to overtake Ocon and then he left the grid behind.

Now, if Leclerc, Norris and Russell didn't pit, I think we would watch a different race with Charles or George winning as I think Max wouldn't be able to dispatch all 3 in that visibility. But Red Bull gambled (and Alpine for that matter), scored a jackpot and got the best wet weather driver on the grid in clear air which resulted in pure domination.

Still have no idea why Ferrari decided to pit for the 2nd set of inters, putting Leclerc into traffic.

Norris aint stupid, just emotional and takes him time to stabilize, needs more than one shot to hit a home-run
Which is absolutely fine, barely anyone can
But he needs to be less of a wimp when things get tough
Like that time when he was young, got greedy in rainy Sochi because he was leading a race and didnt want to yield position

Piastri seems the more composed driver among the two, but Lando is quicker and more experienced. If we rewind two months back there was no discussion about the driver championsip, Max was far far ahead. Lando entered the picture just recently and now that he's failed he is automatically an idiot. Nothing such indicates that, I think Lando is top 5 driver in Formula 1 and the work he's done at McLaren is remarkable. The results and the steady rise of the team since he joined are there for everyone to see.

The thing is McLaren weren't prepared to find themselves competing for titles and equal to Red Bull by mid-season. That's how big of catastrophe the presence of Horner is this season. Big question mark where Red Bull will find themselves next season. The car isn't great, let's not fool ourselves - the track conditions and safety cars played a huge part. Next race in Vegas I bet my house Alpine will be back to their ordinary performance.

Want to know who stupid is:

They are chanting Aston Martin's reserve driver - Felipe Drugovich, a fellow Brazilian.
