you may not want them, but if you bought them, you wouldn't want to trade them for anyone else. especially Coloccini.

Tiote is amazing, all Newcastle attacks begin with him. He's a creative ball keep ball possession and defensive midfielder all rolled into one. utterly fantastic. ALWAYS looks to play it out from the back, and is not affraid to do so under pressure from opposition in dangerous areas. when he plays, us Newcastle fans are like NO NO NO NO WTF ARE YOU DOING, GET RID, BOOT IT CLEAR, and then he goes and proves us wrong by doing a couple of Xavi turns and pivots and skill, keeps possession and plays an intelligent pass forward that puts us on the front foot. he's amazing.

Rodwell will sign for Man Utd.

it seemed a sure thing before Phil Jones burst onto the scene. now I'm not so sure, because Jones is younger and better.

that said, they should still get Rodwell so they can stop fannying around with Jones in midfield (although he is excellent there) but yeah, I don't know that they will. they have some promising talents coming through at CM (well, Pogba and Tunnicliffe) as well as Cleverley who is bizarrely effective. but Rodwell has immense potential. he could give them what Jones does in midfield, and allow Jones to play CB which is where he belongs.

let's see if they make the right decision, though. I hope so for England's sake.

Aren't Manchester United in dire need of a creative cm? Rodwell is a good player but doesn't really fit that category

"creative" is not necessarily what they need. someone capable of playing fast direct passes out to the wings and then getting into the box to finish is what they really need. Scholes' most-used weapon was the fast direct diagonal to switch play to the other flank. watching them yesterday, it took them 3 passes to move the ball across the pitch, and by then the defence has shifted over. Carrick can play those passes, but doesn't always. I think Rodwell can (he can do so much, he needs to move to a better club so he can be challenged to).

FFS!!!!

A former Newcastle player has started a rumor that Fabricio Coloccini will be sold to Liverpool in a swap deal with Andy Carroll.

I hope to GOD it is not true, because Coloccini is easily our best player and quite possibly the best Center Back in the Premier League this season.

and what the hell is it with Liverpool trying to buy the whole Newcastle United team. These NESV people should just sell Liverpool and buy Newcastle United, it would be a hell of a lot cheaper for them than trying to buy he whole Newcastle United squad every January and summer window.

Coloccini the best centre back in the league?!!! Not even close.

I watched the game when West Brom won 3-2 at St James Park and he was terrible and caused two of the goals because he couldnt handle pace when isolated against quick West Brom players

Not even close to being one of the best defenders in the EPL.

Yes Coloccini got done out paced for 2 of the goals. He certainly didn't cause them, that was done by everyone bombing forward leaving no one in defence.

That was Coloccini's first bad game in years, and it wasn't that bad really. He got out ran by a young pacy Shane Long when Newcastle were bombing forward gung ho. He would never have been in that position otherwise. Add to that, he had just come back from an injury lay off with a thigh strain!

He's been the best Center Back in the premier league this season.

Don't base your opinion on just 1 game you watched. he's been amazing for the last 2 and half years.
