For real hurts my stomach to read about all our financial issues. We're shackling ourselves by giving up so much future money. It'll be like people were saying last year "let's hold out, we'll be able to sign regularly in 1-2 years", only this time it's freaking decades until we can reap the full benefits of the club's incomes.
Laporta: "Some of the salaries left by the previous board are exorbitant. Out of confidentiality and respect for privacy, I won't say the numbers. But these are salaries that nobody else in the football market paid. It's genuinely embarrassing by the former management."
I'm hearing that we've rejected the deal? So we're no longer losing 25% of our future TV rights revenue, right?
I've got a great idea, let's give Roberto a contract extension amidst all these financial troubles. You know, Roberto...the player who's been fit for 5% of our matches in 2 years
Same here. I was thinking about it last night, we are going to suffer tremendously long term:
- Match day: Many local fans are apathetic, lack of tourists due to COVID, war, inflation and economic downturns etc.
- Commercial: If we don't do well on the pitch (lack of funds to support and sustain signings will be an issue), less sponsorship revenue, less merchandise sales, less museum visits, less everything
- TV & broadcast: Already handicapped by selling 25% of future rights to CVC
We might not turn into AC Milan, but we might become Dortmund.
Truly depressing and sick to the gut, whenever I think about it.
AC Milan won the title
