FC Barcelona Finances

I've got a great idea, let's give Roberto a contract extension amidst all these financial troubles. You know, Roberto...the player who's been fit for 5% of our matches in 2 years

For real hurts my stomach to read about all our financial issues. We're shackling ourselves by giving up so much future money. It'll be like people were saying last year "let's hold out, we'll be able to sign regularly in 1-2 years", only this time it's freaking decades until we can reap the full benefits of the club's incomes.

Same here. I was thinking about it last night, we are going to suffer tremendously long term:

- Match day: Many local fans are apathetic, lack of tourists due to COVID, war, inflation and economic downturns etc.
- Commercial: If we don't do well on the pitch (lack of funds to support and sustain signings will be an issue), less sponsorship revenue, less merchandise sales, less museum visits, less everything
- TV & broadcast: Already handicapped by selling 25% of future rights to CVC

We might not turn into AC Milan, but we might become Dortmund.

Truly depressing and sick to the gut, whenever I think about it.

Damn 700m & we still can't register 3 players, shiit maybe signing those deals had more to it than just the possibility to sign a couple of 30 year olds...

Laporta: "Some of the salaries left by the previous board are exorbitant. Out of confidentiality and respect for privacy, I won't say the numbers. But these are salaries that nobody else in the football market paid. It's genuinely embarrassing by the former management."

He should say the numbers so we can actually see the amount of money Busquets, Alba, Pique, Umtiti, Martin, Pjanic, Lenglet get every month. A fucking disgrace. The worst of all is the fact that only Busi has one year left on his contract. Martin, Pjanic, Alba and Pique have 2 more years left. What's even worse is that Umtiti and Lenglet have contracts until 2026!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Furthermore, we probably want to get rid of FDJ because of his salary. As far as I can remember he has the biggest salary in the squad. By selling him we would earn around 80 mil but we would also significantly lower our salary expense.

I'm hearing that we've rejected the deal? So we're no longer losing 25% of our future TV rights revenue, right?

My understanding is that we are rejecting CVC deal, but not the sale if 25%.
AFAIK the whole board decision and assembly is to get Laporta the power to sale up to 25% of tv rights and 49.9 of BLM.
There is no deal that he is exactly announced.

Could be great news, or awful one.

tbh the whole thing is tiresome, mainly because the club is engaging fans in financial situation but otoh there is zero transparency

This makes me want to throw up. So so gross that he is being resigned.

Tebas is doing his absolute best to gain more power at the expense of our club. He's got Laporta by the balls. It's either succumbing or having another summer with registration issues and worst case missing out on transfers despite selling high valued players.

So again it comes down to whether Laporta's independent deal will count as income or debt, leveraging the fact that the CVC is accounted as income. Mentioned this a few days ago.

25% is alot of equity [of the tv rights], but with the right partner could go for a huge amount.

The CVC deal was 8,2% for the next 40 years of TV rights. Now reportedly rejected, there will be an assembly in June on whether to sell the 25% of TV rights for 740m for unclear period to unknown partner, which I don't think is CVC.

If it is not going to be CVC, the solace is at least we don't have to repay whatever the amount we get. But selling 25%of future TV rights for decades is still bad, regardless.

If only every one of us Barca fans in the world would chip in and buy something from the club (officially licensed merchandise, membership, Barca TV+ subscriptions, whatever) to help the club financially. This is the time.

AC Milan won the title

And they were sold to the American investment firm RedBird Capital Partners for 1.2 billion, so I guess good times are ahead of them.
