FC Barcelona Finances

FC Barcelona continues to work on activating the famous economic levers that allow it to have an economy that allows it to deal with the transfers that the sports field requires and to balance the entity's balance sheets. To do this, as reported by 'El Confidencial', he is negotiating with Goldman Sachs and ASF (All Sport Finance) the sale of several rights that would report an income of some 900 million euros.

Basically, according to the aforementioned information, it would be 30% of the club's audiovisual rights as well as a percentage of the Espai Bar?a's operating income. The Bar?a club would be outlining the details with Goldman Sachs to structure something similar to what was proposed with CVC.

A myriad of numbers have been reported and I am confused about which is which:

- The 900m deal with Goldman Sachs which sees us ceding away 30% of the TV rights every year for less than 50 years
- In addition, we are also looking to sign with CVC for 270m if (1) it is not considered debt but income and (2) all other clubs that signed on to the CVC deal previously agree
- We are in talks with All Sports Finance (ASF) fund where we seek capital for 400 million and debt for 200 million for shares of future income from Espai Barca, similar to Madrid's 360m deal with Six Street last week, I'd guess

Are the above three all independent of each other? Or the 900m figure includes operations from all three: Goldman Sachs, CVC and ASF?

Anyways, selling 30% of our annual TV rights is not prudent, that is too big of a share to sell in my opinion. So all the objections Laporta had about the original CVC deal ("mortgaging our future" etc.) are proven to be hypocritical. 30% is a lot of money, based on 2021 figures (when we received 289.6m of TV and broadcasting money), 30% would translate to 86.7m. So we give away between 75m to 100m a year for how much?

Also, this club is so notorious when it comes to information leak. Before anything becomes official you have the Spanish media reporting all sorts of stuff that we are looking to do, meanwhile you hear nothing from Madrid until it is all official and officially announced. This club.

Fucking hell

Dark times are coming lads

Laporta: "The financial fair play issue may force us to take decisions that we didn't want to in the first place."

Are the economic levers going to be activated before the 30th of June?

Laporta: "We could have activated some already... We're finding out the best solution for FC Barcelona. But as of now, none of them are ideal

Laporta: "Clubs like City and Paris are distorting the market. And there are new ones coming as well. It makes it very difficult to run a member-owned club like ours."

Laporta: "I don't see UEFA suspending Bar?a, Real Madrid or Juventus. Honestly, they're not in position do so. All we want is sustainable football. We don't want Russian or Arab investors to distort the market."

Laporta: "Some of the salaries left by the previous board are exorbitant. Out of confidentiality and respect for privacy, I won't say the numbers. But these are salaries that nobody else in the football market paid. It's genuinely embarrassing by the former management."

Laporta: "Even after the departures of players the wage bill is still 40% higher than any other team. This is what we have in terms of the disastrous legacy that came from years of careless management."

Laporta: "Frenkie is a quality player. He knows our system. He is however, a desirable player in the market. We have received offers for him. But we think that he should continue at Barcelona."

Yeah, he is starting to say some things which are a bit concerning but also some good truths.

Same shit as he said at the beginning of last season:
- Liga is fucking us over so we can't compete
- UEFA is fucking us over and not letting us do the Super League, while they let City/PSG do whatever
- previous board is to blame for all the high salaries/financial situation
- FDJ is for sale(must admit this is a new one)

At this point he can say the same this time next year. Lots of bitching and crying after he came here as the savior.

Him and Tebas are crying in the press every day about PSG/Mbappe while Florentino Perez hasn't said shit.

FSJ isn't for sale

🎙🚨🚨| Laporta: ?Frenkie de Jong is quality. He knows our system and he is a coveted player in the transfer window and we have received offers for him, but we think he should CONTINUE in Barcelona.?

I believe these are just words to pump up Frenkie's market value.

Important day today.

Tomorrow at 12 pm CET, Bar?a will announce a general assembly that will take place in June. The club will ask for soci approval to 'activate the economic levers' they've been working on, and be able to sign players in the summer transfer market.— @victor_nahe

Bar?a are in very advanced negotiations for the 49% partial sale of Bar?a Licensing and Merchandising. The club would get around €320m in total, pending the approval of the socis in June.— @sport

Barcelona will manage 'Bar?a Studios' along with Polkadot. The cryptocurrency company will pay around €60m to create club NFTs and a Metaverse.— @sport

Barcelona are yet to decide which audiovisual rights offer they are going to accept. The club have to sign the CVC deal or accept the proposal led by Goldman Sachs. The season's accounts and part of the club's economic viability will depend on this decision.— @sport

Javier Tebas: “At the moment Barcelona can’t sign Lewandowski. The club knows the situation and our financial regulations. They know very well what to do, sell players or assets.” #fcblive

I have never seen anyone who is hell bent to take downplay those who actually pay his salary like this man.

For real hurts my stomach to read about all our financial issues. We're shackling ourselves by giving up so much future money. It'll be like people were saying last year "let's hold out, we'll be able to sign regularly in 1-2 years", only this time it's freaking decades until we can reap the full benefits of the club's incomes.

Just listening to a football podcast, guy comments about Bayern, "you can't pay everyone 400,000 euros per week".

Other guys says "except if you're Barcelona" 🤣🤣.

The club is still looking to reduce the salary of the team by 50%

Barcelona, which already has Kessi? and Christiensen signed and is working to soon incorporate Lewandowski, Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, would find right now that, despite being able to enter the 740 million of the levers, it would not be able to register them for not complying with the 'fair play' established by LaLiga.

Shocking. Alot of work for 3/5 journeymen signings
