FC Barcelona Finances

I had in my original post before I rewrote it, but we should have something like that in the clubs bi laws regardless of what the rules in la Liga say, just to hold ourselves accountable.

Our current situation should be a watershed moment for the club, never again should it be allowed to happen.

There is no need for it as rules in place and putting in lower % just puts Barca at a disadvantage.

Would never happen and wouldnt prevent these situations either.

There is not a board candidate or socio that would go for that.

There is a lot that can be improved but that rule in statutes would not have made a difference to situation in last couple seasons.

That's a good idea, I might just steal it and submit it to the club (right now the club is soliciting ideas from socis to update the club's statutes, we have until June 16th to submit ideas and suggestions), we will see if it will fly. ;)

It's a good idea but how do you regulate it. Before covid our income was good. Then covid hit it for shit. Only solution could be say to the players instead of 200k per week you get 2% of the clubs income etc

That article outlines the situation as most understand it now for Barca.

Anyone who didnt know that doesnt know the situation.

Folk need to stop claiming everything the club claim is correct about not being able to register players and 540m CVC deal being best way forward.

Also when they claim 500m to 'save' club is over the top. The club will never go under and many options for way forward particularly if the socios were ever wiling to be flexible on club ownership/investment.

Bartoway would probably still see the only way out as offering players bigger & bigger contracts lol.

"Barcelona decided not to sign the deal. However, struggling to keep the boat afloat many months later, they have been forced to reconsider"

Pretty much exactly what I've been saying re all these obviously bad deals for most who understood basic math from day over.

but as the facts change ones opinion simply has to change, that's the smart way of running a business & just life in general.

things aren't as bad as the people who are actually in charge & have all the info keep telling is they are, because some believe (belief is a hella of a thing) that they have a better understanding of the situation.

things aren't that bad we can sign whoever we want & let's us change the way the club has been operated for a 100 years not because there are fucked, nah just because...

Glad these guys running the club are being realistic & aren't trying the bartoway.

Bartomeu would probably fix this by proposing to the likes of Umtiti and Pjanic to reduce their salaries in exchange for a 4m/year gross for the rest of their life.

We pay considerably less now but we'll still be paying them in 2063.

Shame too he was clutch before all this

Finances were already overwhelming Bartomeu even before Covid. Balancing the book swaps with Cilessen and Arthur which left us with two players in the squad with incredible wages and never play.

Incredible self preservation skills but horrible for the long term of the club.

Already happened with Umtiti but it was needed in Jan to release funds for signings.

A part of me imagines that these Pique nightlife escapades are him, Puig and Bartomeu.

Would be an incredible reality show if Netflix wanted that subscriber boost.

Folk need to stop believing everything board claims such as 'cant renew players' like Roberto which was told was false and a week later he is renewed.

Stop thinking CVC for 540m is some great business deal in current situation when it clearly isnt because at that point think board will sign it.

Understand there is a bigger game going on and players can be renewed and why they may be putting certain messages out there.

Need to hope the deals they have in place for TV money are much better terms than the 540m 40 years CVC deal that was reported as that is way it is heading and from there the club will have funds to spend and can spend it wisely.

My hope is board used the CVC deal to hoodwink Tebas into thinking they were going to sign it and he relented on agreeing to better terms than last years offer.. bigger % to be used for salary cap etc. So that when the socios sign off the ability to make these deals on Thursday Tebas/la liga are in weaker position to reject them with improved terms.

That is pure guess work as not read anywhere that is what they have done.
