We need to get the finances in order. We miss out on good players because we don't have money.

Yeah, but not only because of that. We could've had Enzo Fernandez or Mohamed Camara for 15-20m last summer and Julian Alvarez for 20m but we decided to spend 60m on Ferran instead.

No idea who this WhiteBit is and if they are any good. But with the fall of FTX and the turmoil in the crypto currency industry right now, we should be extra cautious and tread carefully. It wouldn't surprise me if they have to back out after a season, just like what WhaleFin, Atletico Madrid's main shirt sponsor did, cancelling the sleeve sponsorship agreement with Chelsea only several months after it was announced.

For us the risk is not just losing a few millions if this WhiteBit goes belly up, we are partnering with them to explore and make our own cryptocurrency forays. There could be reputational risks too as well as business risks.

And today I read Binance is limiting withdraws.. who knows. Maybe the whole thing goes under. Need to be extra extra careful.

If the biggest company in the business goes down, the whole industry will go down.. In a free fall.

The great trick right now is that there is still ALOT of money being made in crypto.

Still I'm dubious of the timing of this sponsor with a relatively unknown name. But atleast it is not our major sponsor.

Binance had a run of 3billion USD being withdrawn in 24 hours which is pretty crazy, after a few tweets were spread. Im not defending that, but that kind of withdraw would also collapse a bank and lead to the same withdrawal limiting.

Hopefully better standard of last crypto currency sponsor that was Laportas mate who was a few days after deal announced revealed to be a fraudster and I am sure was being linked with sexual assaults.

Ponzi schemes right from the start. When a crypto company worth 32b can collapse overnight... Barca should have learned a lesson from Haas F1 Team with their Rich Energy drink deal that was just fart in the air.

I know a few fools who bought into the crypto wave, invested huge amount of money while it was on the rise.

Put figures and we discuss.

Season 19-20

Debt

Profitability

"LaLiga was the only league coming close to a break even on the bottom line. After interest and taxes Premier League clubs had accumulated losses of ?1.08 billion, which is approximately ?360 more than Serie A and ?816 more than Ligue 1."
Premier League clubs lost five times as much as Bundesliga clubs in 2019/20.

Yeah, but this league needs investments, better players, otherwise it will just die down which is happening now. Numbers look good because almost every LaLiga team is selling their best players.. that's freaking sad.

And because the LaLiga rules they don't even have a chance to keep them.

Premier League spent that much money but it's actually little to their rich owners. That's where we need to be.

What is there to discuss really? It is funny that only the 19/20 season figures were mentioned by him, the first season where COVID started showing its effect but wasn't in full force yet (20/21 was). We were the worst club in La Liga in the 19/20 season with a loss of 98m, with Madrid and other clubs faring better, it wasn't so bad for the league as a whole, of course. EPL? They lost more but also generated a lot more as a league. Nothing to see here.

Sounds like the Glazers have found a mega rich buyer for Man Utd.

FSG also selling Liverpool.

Both teams' new owners are probably going to come in and invest quite a bit from day one like Todd Boehly at Chelsea.

We're going to fall further behind all the competition in Europe.
