No joke though
Who was the last player to have been successful/star quality in Serie A and actually improve when leaving that league?
Let alone a player that's been hurt and looking for rejuvenation
The Chelsea-United-Italy pipeline produced so many duff players
Feels like likes of Tonali almost fell off the face of the planet, for obvious reasons in his case

Rudiger the only player that immediately comes to mind. Not a surprise it'd be a defender

Salah and Alison at least, during 2017 & 2018.

Tonali was good before the whole gambling fiasco.

Cancelo has done fairly well in City for a few years , he was signed in 2019

Would be a shock if a player with his background and injury history made it big in the PL. The odds are against him.

I wouldnt say Salah was a star, dont think anybody expected much from his Liverpool transfer. Alisson yes.

Still, count on one hand list frankly
And have to go back at least 5 years
Could have been worse I guess, could be the dreaded 2009-2014 era of decrepit Italy where Conte was romping it unbeaten and Pogba was considered best thing since sliced bread

Well, closer to a superstar than "not a star" for sure.
Only those who made opinion about him based on his years under Mourinho or the game against RM wouldn't have expected much of him. Although there were plenty of those.

Would you call Kvara a superstar?

The culés were very advanced in the negotiation with the player, but it fell apart when the board, unable to face the payment of the €10 million that the old lady demanded, as a minimum, proposed paying the amount in no less than five years. "The proposal, which left both the transalpine club and the player himself out of the game, was not accepted by Juventus, who were looking for immediate income and were not willing to wait so long to receive the money," explains Sport.
