I'm curious. Sign Torres?!!!! to do what!!!! as a ball boy?!!! 20 million might be too steep for a ball boy don't you think???. as a CB???? hmmmmm he's 6ft and scores few goals so its possible???? Nah i think getting two 6" 5" trees might do a better job. What rumors will they think of next ?!!!!. The next thing i'm gonna hear is that Fabregas wants to go back to Arsenal after we just bought him from that same club for $29m two years ago!!!!! ............... What???? there's a rumor on that too!!!
For those who couldn't tell. I just joking around with the rumours flying left and right. There was also a rumor that this was an end of an era for Barca. You know how crazy these rumors get:lol:

20mil is twice the amount I'd be comfortable paying for Torres. I don't know what our recent obsession with only Spanish players is, we did fine without them in the past.

I'm not saying all our players in the cantera are superstars...but we should really work on developing the promising ones. Montoya and Thiago should of gotten way more minutes. Instead of focusing on developing them and fixing our defense we're being linked with Torres? If it's true then I really don't know what to say.

Villa, Messi, Pedro, Tello, Neymar, Sanchez, Torres, Deulofeu....even if we sell Villa for 12-15mil...we spend it on...Torres?

If mgmt. really do sanction the signing of Torres, then they really are CLUELESS.:shakeshead:

I understand that his weekly wage alone, is in excess of 170k. He would obviously take a pay cut, but he'd still be on huge money to sit on the bench.:facepalm1:

There are far better and cheaper options out there that would be a good fit. To sign Fernando "The White Heskey" Torres at all would be insane. To sign him for 20m would be CRIMINAL.

Hopefully Barcelona sign Torres, it would be a great move for all parties involved. Torres loves scoring at Camp Nou, I'm sure the Cules all know this.

If we let Thiago leave this summer and then sign Torres I'll be so angry. I just hope these are bullshit rumors because otherwise what the fuck are our management thinking?! I'd rather keep Villa than sign Torres...

I for one really am not against this move at all, I've always liked Torres, I think he just made a poor career decision by leaving to go to Chelsea bc their style of play was never suited to him as a player.

Not sure why we are hearing about this first tho over locking down a CB, that makes no sense whatsoever.

To those saying Villa>Torres, he is younger, a bit quicker and taller than Villa. He honestly wouldn't be a bad "Plan B" striker that soooooooo many people on this board have been clammering on and on about how bad we need one. He has the technique to fit into our style and as long as he realizes that he won't start every game but will get decent minutes, I don't think its a bad move.

If this happens tho, Villa and/or Sanchez is definitely gone, most likely the former of the two.

It's true it was a poor career choice in terms of playing style, but he left for trophies, and even if he's been upset at how things have gone he's won what he would never have won at Liverpool. Now he should go elsewhere to revive his career, he's 29, he still has that chance. He's not what he used to be, but in the right team he can salvage his career.

Has anyone watched how good he was in Europa league this season?

In particular, he has strength to hold up the ball and beat defenders with his strength and he's a beast in the air.

Again, we should be spending money now on a CB rather than him now but I certainly wouldn't mind having Torres as a Plan B. He could easily revive his confidence in front of goal when you have service fr players like Xavi, Imiesta, Messi and Dani.

Him and Martinez and I think we are good.

1 league goal since christmas, he's past his best as a player, it would be a complete joke to sign him !
