When was he the world's best striker?

He was argueably the best "striker" that year at Liverpool. I was never a huge Torres fan, but I do know that during that season he was truely unplayable. Scored in big games and was pretty much a total nightmare for defenses.

I don't judge players on stats, I never did. Stats are important, but I'm more interested in HOW they build their stats. Torres had good stats that year but he did it in an exciting, dominating fashion- he was a joy to watch. It's the same reason why Ronaldo (R9) is my favorite striker ever- always good stats, but he did it like no one else ever has.
