many words for nothing dude,im boring too read so much about Torres. But in the matter of fact his finishing hasnt been that bad in comparison with 2011-12 season and 2010-11 season not in general..Also hes slow he has bad control and he would give away the ball easily. If others dont fit Barcelona then Torres surely doesnt too

Compared to his finishing in 2008, this season has been decent. He hasn't missed any tap-ins or easy chances; that's already more than we've gotten from Alexis or Pedro.

Also hes slow

If we wanted a striker as a plan B to occupy the center backs and distract them from Messi, he doesn't need to be fast. Not to mention he had fairly decent pace in the compilations I posted.

So do you consider him as Plan B? if he is better finisher than Alexis and Pedro why wouldnt he took their place if he would fit into the team?

Because he's not a winger and his aerial ability would be wasted out wide.

Although, now that I think about it, he'd still be better than Pedro, the way they've played this season.

Torres still has the skills, but as the poster above pointed out, his head is messed up because of his injuries and the pressure on him when he moved to Chelsea. He never managed to get up again after that.

The only way to revive his career is to start again in Spain or Italy for example. Get out of England.

Maybe go back to Atletico or a club like Inter.

Villa = mejor que...

actually yes, barca should consider extended villa's stay, instead of getting a substandar no 9. Villa would be a killer no 9. (if we really are looking for one). Lewa i understand is perfect for target no.9.

And of all the names we are linked with, i would stay no one actually thought of dzeko. Love him. I think he is very much underrated.

Wooow, this is getting ridicuolous... what would we do with Torres ? he's slow, he chokes the ball, he's got ball control of a tree... and problems in his head. Why in the world would we waste time and money on him? I'd rather put Pique upfront, seriously. BUY defenders, later deal with the rest of money !

- Klose
- Negredo
- Michu
- Berbatov
- Agirretxe
- Burak Yılmaz
- Aubameyang
- Wilfried Bony

All are better and cheaper options. Although maybe not all of them are ideal, but still more sensible than Torres.

And you want us to spend 20m on Has-been with a 12% Shot Conversion and ZERO re-sale value?

Even Alexis is a better finisher than him.

You're right! It's a TERRIBLE move.

:beer2:

-Negredo, highly doubt he would accept playing a bit role. Would probably also cost 20 mil
-Klose, too old, nor does he have that great of technique. He is a player who has "small pond" syndrome, that's why he never really excelled at Bayern. Great striker, but doesn't fit our style
-Michu, like Negredo, if he is going to move he will want a starting spot and that just won't work.
-Berbatov, lol your having a laugh right? The Man UTD reject who is older than Villa? I'll pass. And you say Torres would have no re-sale value...
-Agirretxe, just because he scores against Barca doesn't mean he's good enough to play for us.
-Yilmaz & Aubameyang, wouldn't mind either of them but again, they both aren't going to move unless they have a starting spot and both will be at least 20 mil.

That's the key, the player has the accept a bit role and a majority of the strikers in the market don't want that. Torres on the other hand will probably want to get out of Chelsea asap if Mou doesn't want him, and I'm sure playing out his career as an impact sub for the best team in the world doesn't sound all that bad.

Honestly, the decision that its coming down to is who would be a better super sub, Torres or Villa?

I love Villa, he has done so much for our team and he has always been world class but I really wonder how much he has left in the tank nowadays. My only gripe with Villa is that he has lost almost two steps worth of pace. He isn't nearly as quick and explosive as he used to be and those were his key attributes that made him so good. I know the injury set him back a ways, is it possible for him to regain that pace?

Torres, imo, for what we need seems like not a bad player but obviously he's a headcase. Torres, on his day, was/is one of the most complete strikers in the world. Also, the guys a beast in the air, and if you disagree you should have watched him last season.

All in all, if Villa can accept being our new "Larsson" I'd want him to stay and we just sign a boss CB. But if Villa wants to leave, Torres wouldn't be a bad replacement at all, particularly since he is cheap, good in the air and would be willing to play a secondary role

Why do we need a new striker? Even if Villa leaves, we already got Neymar.

20mil for a player we "might" use as a "2nd" option makes no sense. when we are up against a wall, I don't see us forcing Messi out of the middle to play Torres.

For me, we either commit to using a number 9 in the middle, a world class one, and move Messi to the right and grant him free roam role like we did with Henry and Eto'o. The only problem is we'd need to have a free attacking RB again like Alves....kind of wastes Alba since we'd need a defensive LB to compensate again (and Alba is much better, younger than Alves now). The only two players I think would fit in as an ideal 9 for us is Falcao (still not convinced it'd be that great, good striker but not sure about his link up play) and ideally Suarez. Suarez would be so perfect, too bad he's a huge cunt.

I just don't see us ever having a "2nd option" who is both good enough and willing to sit on the bench 90% of the time. Makes. No. Sense.

Well he's openly admitted to be flattered by your interest but is in no rush to leave. Let's see where this goes, first he wants to have talks with Mourinho.
