Slimeball, hope he flops. We transformed him from a good striker into a world class one and he betrays us to the most despicable of teams. Go to Barca, go to Real, or Asrenal, Bayern, Juve, Inter or any of the other top clubs of Europe (except ManU!) but to go to Chelsea, after all the bitterness between the two clubs fanned by that prick Mourinho... it's such a betrayal. Wishing you failure and more injuries Fernando, you utter tit!

lol u did nothing to him except break his legs for him

Wtf? If you're referring to his injuries most of them came while playing for Spain. And yes we did improve him as a player. No other club were willing to pay even £20-25M for him 4 years ago but we took that gamble and now he is a £50M player.

Really wierd to see him in Chelsea. But then, he probably needed a change anyway. He has performed so bad for so long, im beginning to forget he was ever a good player.
So why not? Its not like pool where dominating with him on the field last season.

Fotball players love fotball, way more than they love any club. No one reaches those levels for any other reason than their own love for the game, you cant be that good just by playing for som abstract sense of "heart". You might reach the third division in spain that way, but not the top level.

Its rarely all about the money. One aspect of the higher salary though, is the fact that its a quantified sense of accomplishment. Top fotballers might not allways need a higher salary, but if they deserve a higher salary its only natural if they go for it for the acknowledgement alone.

Oh, as for Torres' alleged quote... Chelsea, a 'big club'? LOL. A rich club, yes, but big? They're only the 3rd biggest club in London, they don't compare to the truly big clubs of European football.

Yeah, I never thought Torres could be so cool!

I admire the panaché with which he has orchestrated his move out of the half-sunk ship that is Anfield (NESV have plugged all the leaks, but half the thing is still below the waterline) and the resolve he has shown in sticking to his principles of trying to contend for trophies. this final diss is just the parting shot, the salt in the wound, the spit on the corpse, that makes the whole situation really fucking funny.

I should add, however, that the biggest reason his "betrayal" is so funny is because Scousers everywhere genuinely believed he loved their club. I'm sure he held them close to him, but so close as to ruin his career? no. he was happily doing that at Atleti when Liverpool gave him a bigger stage upon which to flex his muscles. but that's all Liverpool ever were: a stage to compete for prizes. now they have fallen from those heights and are hanging around sucking cock by the backstage entrance, why the hell should he stick around? he's moved on to the next mark to give him a stage.

for example, I have no doubt that if we started to suck, the likes of Dani, Mascherano, Abidal, maybe even Villa (although given his career history I dunno) would drop us like a bad habit and head for greener pastures. which is why I'm so glad that the core of our team is all from La Masia. coz those guys are loyal to the club, they love the club. especially when the club is loyal to them (which they weren't during Gaspart days which is why Cesc and Piqué left). they won't leave. the others, though? they'd be gone.

for every Javier Zanetti, there are thousands of Fernando Torreses.
